Ironworkers' Strike Spreads To Pasadena
PASADENA, (P) — The wage dispute which has idled AFL operating engineers and ironworkers in various Southern California areas has spread to Pasadena.
The strikers, members of the AFL Operating Engineers and Ironworkers union, want pay raises from 26 to 29 cents an hour. Contractors have offered 19 cents.
In Pasadena, 40 quit the six million dollar freeway bridge. Other strikes included the new San Francisco Gas Co. building Angeles and the Matsouk dock job at Long Beach.
Union men said all earmarks and ironworkers in the San Francisco area construction industry were out. Other struck jobs include a dam project in county and a Marine Corps installation at Twenty-nine.

Cold War Ties Up Berlin Cemeteries
BERLIN (UP) — The East-West cold war has invaded Berlin's cemeteries.
Most of Berlin's newer burying grounds were laid out on the city's outskirts so they are now in the Russian zone. This means that if a West Berliner owns a burial plot there and wants to bury a relative he can't do it because of communist-imposed travel restrictions.
Nor can West Berliners go to decorate the graves of their dead.
Some tearful women have appealed to the city authorities to have their dead exhumed and brought to western soil.
