The significance of man's existence in Spirit in contrast with the illusion that he lives n a mortal body will be stressed in the Sunday Lesson-Sermon on "Mortals and Immortals" in all Christian Science churches.
The Golden Text from Romans (8:8,9) reads, "They that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you."
In Paul's first epistle to the Corinthians (15:58) he counsels, "My beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."
In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says, "We must realize the ability of mental might to offset human misconceptions and to replace them with the life which is spiritual, not material." "The evidence of man's immortality will become more apparent, as material beliefs are given up and the immortal facts of being are admitted" (p. 429).

Young Methodists Plan Lives of Church Service
Eleven young people of high school and college age, members of the Methodist Youth Fellowship at White Temple Church, are planning to spend their lives in the full-time professional service of the church, through a variety of careers, which they will describe at the Sunday evening service at seven o'clock. The entire evening service will be planned and conducted by these "life service recruits," who have come to their decisions quietly and separately over the last couple of years.

Judy Beile Wicker, also preparing for the ministry of music, will conduct her Primary Choir in an anthem. Meditations will be led by Myrna Leweilyn, intending to become a church secretary, and prayer by Martha McConaghy, also wishing to be a Christian Education director. Four other students will tell why they have chosen their particular fields of life service; Don Hillary in Christian Education; Drusetta Martin in social work; Dieter Hessel in foreign missions; and Barbara Galloway in missionary teaching. Kindly Ocean Returns Dead Sailor to Land
BY ROBERT W. WELLS
EUREKA, Calif. (AP)—A commercial fisherman most of his 74 years, Stephen Merisch loved the sea.
The sea is often harsh. But for those who know it, it is often kind.
The sea brought Stephen Merisch home after human hands had failed him.
His story, as reconstructed by Humboldt county Coroner Lloyd Wallace:
Fishing alone just south of this Northern California town yesterday, Merisch was seized by a heart attack. Gasping for breath, he was unable to call nearby boats.
So he fired his automatic pistol seven times—until the magazine was empty—in a futile effort to attract attention.
Then the old man collapsed over the engine of his boat. It chugged off, away from the fishing fleet, until it ran out of gas.
Then the sea took over.
Just before dark a passerby found the boat, high and dry at a Humboldt Bay breakwater.
It rested as if it had been put there with loving care. The paint was hardly scratched.
The sea had returned Merisch, dead of the heart attack, home for burial.
