By and large school tax levies take the biggest slice of the property taxes, yet a mere handful of the voters decide the issues at school elections. Anaheimers made a record to be proud of last year when a third of the registered voters went to the polls and cast ballots in an election that saw the elementary school board increased from thred to five members. Of course, Anaheimers were interested in that election because of the Melbourne Gaucer incident. Voters should take an active interest in this year's election. Recorder L. Coons, Carrie K. Rogers and Cyril Smith are the candidates seeking elementary school board jobs. Robert Cawthon and Hay Terry are seeking re-election to the Anahi school board. These Anaheimers are actively interested in better schools and are willing to serve their community and its youth. SCHOOLS — There are 40 elementary school districts in the county where there will be voting May 16. There are nine high school districts. ODDITY — Henry Crane, an Orange Coast college student, is making a name for himself by running for one of the two openings on the college board. Frinstance, Earl Hill and Perry Wood are well known throughout the north end of the county. They're candidates for the Brea-Olinda Hi school board. With Anaheim furnishing a quarter of Fullerton college students, Anaheimers are interested in the Fullerhi board election. Gordon McComber, Emimett Wood, Warren Ferguson and Robert Fulton are seeking two of the seats at the council table. All in all, the May 16 school election will be an important one.
