HEYING, also known as CAROLINA M. HEYING, Deceased. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the creditors of and all persons having claims against the said deceded or said estate to file them with the Clerk of the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for t EDWARD FAULKNER I became a candidate for county supervisor for several reasons. One is that I shall seek more economy in government. Another is that I feel strongly that the Third District deserves better representation than it has been getting in the past four years. The Third supervisorial district, embracing all of northern Orange county, is the largest, industrially and agriculturally, of any district in the county. Yet it has had relatively the least share of the benefits of county government. There are some features of our county government that in my opinion offer opportunity for economies. It is not my intention to promise wholesale tax cuts and shout about what I am going to do when I get on the board of supervisors, and then do nothing. We heard that four years ago. But I do have in mind certain functions of county government in which I believe savings can be made. I will discuss these functions in due course. It will be my purpose to work toward such economics in cooperation with other members of the Board of Supervisors. It will be my purpose to work constructively with the other supervisors, and not obstructively. I have no intention of bullying them or defying them, or taking the opposite side. LEGAL NOTICES (Pub. which I believe savings can be made. I will discuss these functions in due course. It will be my purpose to work toward such economies in cooperation with other members of the Board of Supervisors. It will be my purpose to work constructively with the other supervisors, and not obstructively. I have no intention of bullying them or defying them, or taking the opposite side just to show my independence. Like everyone else in northern Orange county, I have observed the unfortunate result of such a course these last four years. Our district has had independence, while the other districts have had the fruits of county government. I do not believe that all the other supervisors were out of step. It will be my purpose to change isolationism to cooperation. To get a fair share of benefits for the Third district. To work sensibly with the other supervisors for the benefit of the county as a whole. I see no reason why I cannot cooperate with other members of the Board and still maintain independence of judgment. I hear on every side the opinion that our district needs efficiency and can spare the spectacular, an opinion that would not be so general if not borne out by the record. The opinion also is being widely expressed that our district needs a supervisor with the youth to carry the weight of the job through the next four years, and at the same time, the business experience to apply mature judgment to its problems. My candidacy is the result of the conditions and needs upon which these opinions are founded. Pol. Adv. Dated: This 26th day of March, 1952. CLARE E. BECKETT, Administrator of the Estate of Philip H. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., "The New Germany" program is open to the public free of charge. Vanderbilt has been in Europe this past summer, traveling through many of its countries. He has concentrated on Germany, fine-combing its cities, villages and hamlets to film human-interest stories and bring back to America the colorful real-life story. A veteran newspaperman and action of an old American family, he has recorded the remarkable rehabilitation program now underway practically everywhere in Germany. According to his film, war-torn cities are fast becoming a thing of the past, with ultra-modern buildings replacing shabby old-style architecture. Reconstruction goes on with a tenacity that rivals some building projects in Southern California. In his narration with the picture, Vanderbilt touches upon the attitude of many German people toward the United States whose Economic Cooperation Administration program is at present in full swing. Also he speaks of work being accomplished by John McCloy, U.S. High Commissioner for Germany. "Wings," in 1927-28, first motion picture to Academy award.
