But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yee, the deep things of God." Mary Baker Eddy says in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "Spirit imparts the understanding which uplifts consciousness and leads into a truth." "The corporeal senses can take no cognizance of spiritual reality and immortality." The decision followed recommendations of both Raymond R. Ribal, chief engineer — general manager of the sanitation districts, and Dr. Richard Pomeroy, consulting engineer, whose report on sulfide controls was before the meeting last night. The thick-wall type of concrete pipe would cost $18,000 more than the regular concrete pipe for the 11,600 feet of 46-inch line and $800 feet of 42-inch line that District 1 will use. Ribal said. Use of the newer amerplate pipe would cost $165,000 more than regular concrete pipe, he estimated. The extra three-fourths inch thickness of concrete in the pipe efflozen would add 50 years to the life of the lines. It was estimated, on the basis of Dr. Pomeroy's report of the rate of deterioration. The directors agreed to call also for alternate bids covering the amerplate T-lock type of pipe and the pipe with clay liners, as a guide to costs. The clay-lined pipe was estimated to cost $50,000 more than the regular concrete pipe, for the amount needed.
