Kefauver Flips Off Coon-Skin, Meets Citizenry
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. — Winding up his first day of campaign in Wisconsin, Sen. Kefauver of Tenessee cut down on his wordage last night so he could shake more hands.
Kefauver, who has flipped his coonskin cap into the Democratic presidential ring and into Wisconsin's April 1 primary, put aside his prepared speech, declaring he was pressed for time in order to meet personally as many as he could in his audience of 2200.
Among the Republican presidential candidates in the state, last night, Senator Taft of Ohio kept up his criticism of the administration's foreign policy and Harold Stassen hit again at Taft's foreign policy.
Kefauver told his audience at Wisconsin Rapid's Lincoln Field House that "this is a time of tremendous challenge. I know the people of the United States can outdo the slave people any time. We want to convince the people of the world their best course lies with us."
Gov. Earl Warren of California is slated to arrive at Milwaukee tonight and renew his presidential campaign in Wisconsin Friday, starting at Racine.
Gen. Eisenhower's astonishing 106,788 vote showing in Minnesota's primary Tuesday—all writings—set off bidding yesterday for "Ike" supporters in Wisconsin's primary.
Gov. Earl Warren of California is slated to arrive at Milwaukee tonight and renew his presidential campaign in Wisconsin Friday, starting at Racine.
Gen. Eisenhower's astonishing 108,788 vote showing in Minnesota's primary Tuesday—all writings—set off bidding yesterday for "Ike" supporters in Wisconsin's primary.
Stassen quickly renewed his invitation to Eisenhower admirers to support him, claiming his views most nearly parallel the general's.
Ralph Immell, state leader of the Warren campaign, retorted that the California governor is the true Eisenhower candidate in Wisconsin.
Eisenhower is not entered in Wisconsin's primary and write-in votes will not count.

REDFIELD SUSPECT
CONFESSES THEFT
RENO (AP)—Arrest of an eighth suspect in the burglary of millionaire La Vere Redfield’s safe brought the first confession of the case and boosted the cash recovery to $128,000.
The FBI said Anthony Gazzigli, 41, former gambling house porter here, admitted taking part in the million and a half dollar Redfield burglary and led to the recovery of $27,000 cash, some jewelry and securities.
Officers said Gazzigli, a brother of Louis (Firpo) Gazzigli, already held in the case, told how Redfield’s safe was taken from the home and broken open with crowbars in an isolated area outside Reno.

the society pages by getting married to Donald Stevens... And Sam Collins, the speaker of the assembly, first announced his intention of running for the state senate... Speaking of names it's interesting to note that neither of the Anaheim Northrups—Mrs. Florence Northrup or Mrs. Beth Northrup—work for Northrup in Anaheim.
Ray Flores must be given a lot of credit. The young Anaheimer has fought his way to the semi-final bracket of the Olympic fistic circles, but he's ready to hang up his gloves. Leatherpushing can be a punishing pastime even when you win.
