Social and Club Activities Beta Sigma Phi Hears Talk by Dance Instructor Beta Sigma Phi's speaker for this week was Mrs. Josephine Murray who spoke on the purpose of modern dance in the schools, Mrs. Murray, who teaches dance at Fullerton High school and Junior college, explained that modern dance gives the participants the opportunity to express ideas and emotions as well as the opportunity for bodily expression. The enthusiasm which Mrs. Murray imparts to her students was readily evident in her delightful talk. Plans for a Tri City (Anaheim, Fullerton and Santa Ana) informal party, the Tri-City formal founder's day banquet and the California Beta Sigma Phi convention to be held in Pasadena were discussed. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Dorothea Schutz with Dorothy Gerlich as co-hostess. Job's Daughters Plan March Events Job's Daughters Bethel 5 met in regular session in Masonic Temple with Jean Bastian, honored queen presiding. Bethel guardians, Mrs. Tillie Ehrle and Mrs. Donald Pullman were introduced. Announcement was made of a tea to be held March 8 in the Temple; "go to church Sunday" March 16; sports record dance, March 22; box social, March 24. Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting. Friendly Circle Well Attended Grace Lutheran church Friendly Circle met Tuesday evening in the home of Pearl Mohn with Mrs. Clyde Schlund assisting in hostess duties. Out of town guests attending were Mrs. Carrol Devereaux of North Dakota; Mrs. A. Nelson of Minnesota and Mrs. Harry Steif Sr., of Iowa. Mrs. Edna Barron led devotions which were followed by games and refreshments. Elect Officers MRS. Marian Students Give Katella P-TL Programs Nance Lois Olmstead of Orange County Health department was guest speaker at a meeting of Katella P-TL Tuesday and presented a helpful and informative talk on the subject "Home Care of Polio." She used slides to illustrate her points. Program chairman, Mrs. Loren Wagner, introduced the speaker and the first grade class of Miss Cynthia Rainey, who presented two songs and a puppet show. The first grade also led the flag salute and singing of "America." Under the leadership of their teacher, Mrs. Jeanette Smith, the second grade showed slides and read stories they had made in conjunction with their study of farm animals. Mrs. Ross Brownfield presided over the brief business meeting. Appointed to the nominating committee were Mrs. John Row, Mrs. Owen Francis and Mrs. Bob Walton. Room count was won by the first grade. Fifth grade mothers served tea at a table centered with daffodils. Out of town guests attending were Mrs. Carrol Devereaux of North Dakota; Mrs. A. Elect Officers For Y's Menettes One of Arnheim's newest organizations, the Y's Menettes club met this week at the YMCA to hear the constitution and to elect officers. To serve as president is Mrs. Richard Harris; vice president, Mrs. Orlo Fast; secretary, Mrs. Dan Trabant and treasurer, Mrs. J. Ross Walker. Refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Harold Schneider and Mrs. Lee Hanson. New Dates for Mother’s Club Mr. Verna Hopkins, 812 N. Palm st., will be hostess to Job's Daughters Mothers club at a meeting Feb. 25. Election of new officers will be conducted. The Guardian Council has decided to have Mothers club preceding the second regular meeting of Job's Daughters. A 6 p.m., family pot luck dinner will be served. In hospital work the Auxiliary voted to buy scuffies and make two bed jackets for the VA hospital in Long Beach. The auxiliary will be hostess to the county council on March 11. On March 14 the auxiliary is entertaining the Legion post with a dinner in honor of their 32nd birthday anniversary.
