Avocado Growers To Hear Talk On Irrigation A double-bill program is planned for the avocado growers Orange county on Friday, Feb. 22, according to Farm Advisor. British-Egyptian Talks to Start In Cairo Saturday CAIRO (UP) — The pro-Wafdist newspaper Al Misri said today that British-Egyptian talks toward solving the two countries' dispute over the Suez and the Sudan will start in Cairo Saturday. The newspaper said Prime Minister Aly Maher Pasha and British Ambassador Sir Ralph Stevenson would do the negotiating. The British embassy here said it had "no comment" on the report. Maher Pasha said Tuesday night Egypt was ready to start negotiations with the British on the basis of British evacuation of the Canal zone and unification of Egypt and the Sudan. Al Misri, organ of the party whose government last October ordered Britain out of the Suez and Sudan, said talks earlier this week in London between Egyptian Ambassador Abdel Fattah Amr Pasha and Foreign Secretary Anthony Eden "have resulted in a great step being made toward an agreement." The newspaper said the two diplomats agreed "to consider the question of Middle East and Suez canal defense on the basis of an inter-Arab security pact." ATLANTA (UP)—Grants from the Texas Education Association, finances by a capitalist once outspoken against Jews and Negroes, will continue to be accepted by Piedmont College. Dr. Richards will give information pertaining to the additional rainfall this season and its relation to possbile changes in our irrigation procedures. Also, the Extension Service will present a progress report of projects conducted in the county during 1951. Growers will have an opportunity to offer suggestions for additional projects to be worked on in 1952. All interested persons are welcome to attend this meeting.
