Workshop Series Inaugurated Here
Sponsored by the Orange county Choral Conductors Guild, the first in a series of four workshop sessions will be held Monday evening at 7:30, in the music room of the Santa Ana First Presbyterian church.

Joan Spencer, Wayne Hudson To Wed Soon
Engagement of two popular Orange countians was revealed today when Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Spencer announced that their daughter, Joan, will wed Wayne Hudson of Garden Grove.
Miss Spencer is currently attending Fullerton junior college, where she is majoring in music and is active in drama circles. A graduate of Anaheim high school, she plans to complete her college education after leaving Fullerton in June.
Her fiance, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hudson of Garden Grove, was graduated from Garden Grove high school and attended Santa Ana junior college. He is now serving with the Navy in San Diego.
No date has been set for the wedding.
Associated Arts Meeting Tonight
With an exhibition of student paintings and ceramics, the "visual arts" theme of the Fullerton junior college Allied Arts club meeting tonight will be illustrated, announced Martin Rudick, president, today.
At the meeting, to be held in the college lounge, at 7:30 p.m., the student artists will each explain the artistic impulse or experience which led to the creation of the picture or the ceramic piece.
Introductory remarks on the creative experience in painting will be made by Miss Lucile Hinkle, painting instructor. Mrs. Mary Hodgdon, ceramics instructor, will speak briefly on the same subject with relation to ceramics.
Plans for a permanent art collection at the college, sponsored by the club, will be explained by Mrs. Hodgdon. The club, when it was organized, initiated a fund
Workshop Series Inaugurated Here
Sponsored by the Orange county Choral Conductors Guild, the first in a series of four workshop sessions will be held Monday evening at 7:30, in the music room of the Santa Ana First Presbyterian church.
Featured speaker for the evening will be Stephen Palmer, minister of music of the host church. He will speak on "The Development of the Graded Choir Program." Mr. Palmer comes from the east coast with degrees from Boston and Syracuse universities and has also done graduate work with Marcel Dupre in Paris.
The workshop is geared to interest all church musicians as well as public school teachers associated with choral work. Practice in conducting music will also be included on the program.
Mrs. George Sloop, Jr., of Anaheim heads the Choral Guild as president and Wesley Marquart of Orange is acting as workshop chairman.
Washington P-TA Plans Dinner
Plans for a spaghetti dinner were formulated by George Washington P-TA executive board this week in arranging for the general meeting Jan. 9.
Board members will furnish spaghetti with the rest of the menu divided into classes. Families in Miss Eloise Smith's kindergarten are asked to bring two quarts of milk and the first grade, a hot vegetable dish. Second grade, one half pound of coffee or one pint of half and half and a pound of cube sugar; Miss Clara Mark's third grade, quarter pound of butter and a loaf of French bread; combined third and fourth grades, a salad; Mrs. Esther Kelsey's fourth grade, a salad; Mrs. Hopper's sixth grade, an apple pie and Miss Mauerhan's sixth grade, apple pie.
YMCA Benefit Dinner Friday
An old fashioned baked supper is being served at YMCA building, 121 S. Citron on Friday evening, Jan. 4, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This is a benefit affair sponsored by the YMCA to assist delegates to the model legislature in the expenses of the trip toamento in February. A goodner is promised, the menu

SHE WILL ALSO REPORT ON A RECENT VISIT TO SUCH AN ART COLLECTION OWNED BY THE GARDENA HIGH SCHOOL. THAT SCHOOL HAS A COLLECTION WORTH MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, SHE EXPLAINED.
PRESENT AT THE MEETING WILL BE FIVE FORMER STUDENTS AT FULLERTON JUNIOR COLLEGE WHO ARE NOW EARNING A LIVELIHOOD IN THE FIELD OF CERAMICS, MRS. HODGDON SAID. THEY ARE MERTON PURKISS OF FULLERTON, RALPH FARMER OF GARDEN GROVE, BETTY Lou Rankins Nichols OF LA HABRA, BETH Barton, Anaheim AND STANLEY PORTER, LAGUNA.
PURKISS RECently won a first award in the annual national Syracuse, New York, competition. Farmer, who is evening school ceramics instructor at the college, has commercialized on numerous ceramics pieces. Beth Barton, who has a shop in Anaheim, is well known for her miniature ceramic bugs in amusing human postures.
