A correlative sermon selection from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Eddy reads, "Jesus' spiritual origin and understanding enabled him to demonstrate the facts of being—to prove irrefutably how spiritual Truth destroys material error, heals sickness, and overcomes death. The divine conception of Jesus pointed to this truth and presented an illustration of creation" (p. 315).

**HLPFUL FIREMEN—It took the long ladders of the Anaheim fire department yesterday to help prepare St. Michael's Episcopal church for its Christmas services. First the firemen straightened the gilt cross on top of the steeple which had been blown to a 45-degree angle by the recent record windstorm. Then they replaced the broken bell rope which has called Episcopalians to worship for more than 70 years. Without this second act of helpfulness the Christmas services could not have proceeded according to plan, for, on Sunday, Dec. 23, the ringing of the Bell is to be the climax of the Christmas play, "Why the Chimes Rang." Wedding bells are called for the same afternoon; and at the Christmas Eve Midnight service twelve strokes of the bells will signify the beginning of the Prayer of Consecration in the Communion.
