Golden Wedding Anniversary Party for Mr. and Mrs. Carl Vester Yesterday A colorful rainbow ending in a pot of gold rosebuds provided a lovely motif for the golden wedding anniversary celebration yesterday, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Vester of Anaheim. More than 150 friends and relatives gathered at Bethel Baptist church to honor the popular couple who have made their home in California since 1926. They were married November 27, 1901, in Warren county, Indiana, in the Brown family home. Presiding at the beautifully appointed tea table were Mrs. V. J. Barfoot and Mrs. Walter Paulus. Guest look was passed by Mrs. Margaret Haugh. Among the guests were the couple's two daughters, Mrs. Merle Single of Missouri and Mrs. Wayen Richardson of Lynwood. Other cut-of-town guests included Mrs. Stanley Greer of Missouri, Mr. and Mrs. Orla Ralph of Los Angeles; Mrs. Eva McCracken of Los Angeles; Mrs. Mildred Goyette, Alhambra; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tompkins, Glendora; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tompkins, Claremont; Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Tompkins and family; Roger Tompkins and family and Miss Laura Lee Tompkins, all of Pomona; Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Phiefier, Fontana; Mr. and Mrs. Stan Matyshak of Compton; Mr. and Mrs. John Wentz, Lynwood; Mrs. Charles Bennett and Mrs. Clayton Scarbrough of Orange. Before retiring, the Vesters operated meat markets in Orange and Los Angeles counties. Top Pianist for Community Concert Sascha Gorodnitzki, one of the nations' top pianists, will present the second program in the Santa Ana Community Concert association's season Saturday, Dec. 8. The concert will be given in Santa Ana High school auditorium at 8:15 p.m. Gorodnitzki has become a recital favorite throughout the United States, Canada and Latin America since making his debut with the New York Philharmonic symphony orchestra as winner of the Schubert Memorial prize. He had played for more than 65 New York engagements and has appeared as soloist with the nation's foremost orchestras. The artist recently was appointed to succeed the late Olga Samaroff-Stokowski on the faculty of the Juilliard School of Music in New York. The Santa Ana concert organization opened its season last month with a program given by William Warfield, baritone. Its concert series also will include performances by Mata and Hari dance team, Feb. 1; Virtuosi di Roma, instrumental ensemble, Feb. 7, and Pierette Alarie, soprano, March 7. MR. AND MRS. J. H. Hund of Anaheim. Father Ernest Gaulderson officiated at the double ring services. The lovely bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Braungart of Ft. Wayne, Ind., chose for her wedding ensemble a white satin gown, en train, with a fitted bodice of lace over satin. Long lace sleeves ended in points at the wrist and the yoke was styled with a sweetheart neckline. Her fingertip veil fell from a lace halo edged in seed pearls and she carried a shower bouquet of white orchids and carnations. Completing her attire were a pair of white satin wedding slippers borrowed from Mrs. Harold Hund and a sinner. A wreath of tiny chrysanthemums in her hair was repeated in her bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums and roses. Bridesmaids, Mrs. June Stokes and Mrs. Harold Hund, wore matching attire with a crescent of yellow chrysanthemums in their hair. Harold Hund was best man and ushers were Jack Hoag and Forrest Parker. "Ave Maria," "Panis Angelicus" and traditional music were played by organist Charles Miller with Edward Furtek as soloist. Capilla de San Antonio was the setting for the reception where Mrs. Braungart greeted guests in a blue afternoon dress accessorized in black and a corsage of yellow roses. Mrs. Hund wore a brown gabardine suit dress with brown accessories and a corsage of pink roses. For a Las Vegas honeymoon, the bride wore a grey and gold pin stripe suit with navy blue accessories and a white orchid corsage. She is a graduate of South Side high school in Fort Wayne, attended St. Louis Institute of Music and is employed by Pacific Telephone Co. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed L. Hund of N. West st., was graduated from Anaheim high school, served for three years in the Navy, and is also employed by the telephone company. They will reside at 9851 S. Lemon st. School Yearbook Receives Award Anaheim's union high year book, the Colonist, has recently notified for the consecutive year that it received the Mead Award for outstanding yearbook. The Mead Company, who the honor, in their most edition of their publication listed a picture of the cover a complete writeup dealing the book.
