German Student To Speak at Anaheim Church
Harald Frey, son of a German Methodist minister and himself the recent student-pastor of a five-point circuit at Lake Constance in Germany, will be the featured speaker at the 7 p.m. service of White Temple Methodist church Sunday night. He is currently attending Pasadena City college on an exchange scholarship financed by the young people of the Southern California-Arizona Annual conference through funds raised at their summer institutes.
At the age of 15, Harald was drafted into the Nazi army most unwillingly, and lived through the most desperate period of Germany's military defeat and occupation. He met a group of young Methodists from Southern California who were engaged in a summer camp near his home, and struck up such a deep friendship with the party that they arranged to bring him to America as an exchange student, living with a Methodist family in Pasadena.
During the past summer he thrilled hundreds with his story at each of the summer institutes in this area, and he comes prepared to tell the Anaheim audience of the current attitudes and problems.
