Bethel Baptist
Rev. Berthold Jacksteit will speak Sunday morning on "Extraordinary Ordinary Men" at Bethel Baptist church. The church will be observing Sunday School week with a consecration service for all Sunday School teachers and officers at this service. In the evening Pastor Jacksteit will bring the third sermon, an series on Paul's Epistle to the Romans on "Faith's Rock Foundation.
Messiah Lutheran
Rally Day will be observed at Messiah Lutheran church, Commonwealth and Stanton Avenues, Buena Park, next Sunday morning, in Sunday School and in the church service. A special program has been prepared for the Sunday School, in which pictures will be used to bring the message. This will also introduce the Bible reading course, in beautiful pictures, to be known as "The Bible at a Glance," which will be continued each week: Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. Elmer Fisher is the superintendent.
The theme of the morning service, at 11 o'clock, is "Forward, March!" There will be special music by the male quartet, under the direction of Mrs. Arch Billing. The installation of Sunday School workers will take place

Wesley Methodist
Sunday, Sept. 23, is Rally Day in every department of church work. A large crowd is expected in the Sunday School and morning worship services. Special music, "Hold Thou, My Hand," by C. S. Riggs, sung by Margaret Elliott and John Albright. The minister's sermon subject, in keeping with the day, is "Wall-Building."
Work of remodeling of the sanctuary is progressing nicely. The men of the church are doing the carpentering and the ladies are serving refreshments and planning to serve the workers with a good dinner, Saturday, at which time they are expecting to work most of the day. We are hoping that the work will be completed by Nov. 1.
White Temple Methodist
The true story of the life and thrilling adventures of MMboona, an African lad rescued from superstition and near death to a life of significant service as a physician, is told on the screen in the new Cathedral Film, "In the Footsteps of the Witch Doctor," to be shown to the public at the regular 7 p.m. service at White Temple Methodist church on Sunday night.
The picture was photographed among little-known tribes in the heart of Africa by a Swedish photographer, and brings back pictures of native customs and ceremonies never before recorded on the screen.

Grace Lutheran
The American Lutheran churches of Orange county are cooperating to conduct a Church Workers institute for a series of five meetings. The first of these meetings will be held Monday, Sept. 24, in St. Peter's Lutheran church, 15th and N. Parton, Santa Ana, the Rev. G. Busdlecker, pastor. The entire Sunday School teaching staff and other church leaders will attend from Grace Lutheran. This is a part of the regular Parish Education program of Grace Lutheran church. The emphasis of the month "Teach My People" fits this type of training very well.
The staff of the Church Workers institute is made up of qualified teachers and pastors. The Bible course will be conducted by Pastor H. Stief of Grace Lutheran. Course in introduction to the various departments of work in the Sunday Church School will be conducted by Mr. and Mrs. P. Engebretson, Leland Hanson of Grace Lutheran in Anaheim, Mrs. Scott and Pastor G. Busdlecker of St. Peter's Lutheran, Santa Ana, and Pastor H. Roth of Newport Harbor Lutheran.
This Sunday Grace Lutheran church will continue their emphasis of Parish Education with the hope of further inspiration toward an informed Parish. Pastor Stief's sermon topic will be "We Must Teach."
We wish to thank our friends, neighbors and relatives for the prayers, their many kindness, the floral triumph and sympathy extended due to the passing of our beloved mother.
