An open house Saturday officially began the celebration which continued that evening with a square dance on the Dierberger lawn. The stream of callers, however, began a day earlier and continued through Sunday. William Dierbergers Feted on Occasion of Silver Anniversary A silver anniversary that unexpectedly became a three-day celebration commemorated over the week-end the 25 years of marriage of Mr. and Mrs. William Dierberger. Although the celebration was to have begun Saturday, neighbors began to call Friday, bestowing gifts on the couple at their Anaheim home, 523 S. Resh st. More than 50 guests called during the open house Saturday and enjoyed portions of the lovely wedding cake, decorated with silver bells and leaves and the traditional bride and groom. Mrs. Lyle Kobernik served the cake after the first cut had been made by the honoree. Mrs. George Dierberger of Anaheim, served punch from a sparkling cut-glass bowl more than a century old, loaned for the occasion by Mrs. Dwight Higgins of Pomona. Mrs. Wesley Dierberger of Anaheim, was in charge of the guest book. High point of Saturday's festivities for the celebrants was a telephone call from the couple's son, Pvt. Earl Dierberger, who is assigned to an anti-aircraft battery stationed in Korea. He has been overseas three months. During the evening hours, an additional 50 guests enjoyed square dancing on the lawn, under the luminous glow of Japanese lanterns. The Dierberger's son Robert had assisted in the arrangements for the gay setting. Dances were called by Lynn Alexander of Riverside, who brought his own recordings. He was accompanied to the party by his wife. Other out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Burton of Inglewood and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Craig of Ontario. Others who assisted in serving were the couple's daughter, Betty and niece, Nancy Smith; Miss Roycene Jennings, their future daughter-in-law and Miss Alice Higgins of Anaheim. The couple were surprised Sunday, when 18 additional friends called to extend their best wishes.
