Recorded in The American Newsman naheim Gazette THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 1931 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA SWOOSH AIR NOTHER PART OF ROYAL CASTLE... ! SOMEBODY'S DO SOMETHING! G-GOSH! DO WHAT? SOMEBODY'S GOT TO STOP PRINCE PITKIN FROM APPEARING BEFORE PRINCESS POMONA IN JUST HIS UNDERSHIRT! I DON'T UNDERSTAND, BUT I'LL UNDERTAKE TO STOP HIM! WE MUST FIND A PLACE WHERE WE CAN TALK! Ski Jumpers at LA County Fair POMONA (UP) — Nine members of the U.S. Olympic games ski jumping team will compete as a daily free attraction at the Los Angeles county fair, performing from one of the highest man-made skid jumps ever constructed in this country—225 feet in the air. Trophies will be offered for each day's events, which start tomorrow. The tournament is amateur. Ruby Justified LONDON (UP) — Boxing writers for two of the three London afternoon papers declared today referee Ruby Goldstein was right when he gave Ray Robinson a tenth round technical knockout victory over Britain's Randy Turpin in the world middleweight championship bout last night. Bill McGowran of the Evening News wrote from New York: "The referee was absolutely justified in stopping the fight in Robinson's favor." Lynx Back In Fight DETROIT (UP) — The San Pedro, Calif., entry was defeated 3-0 by Memphis, Tenn., yesterday in the American Softball Association championships. In the women's division, Buena Park, Calif., beat Hartford, Conn., 9-1. Schroeder May be Drafted for Cup LOS ANGELES (UP) — Whether he wants it or not, Ted Schroeder of California may be drafted for the American Davis cup team. That was the opinion of many today as the surprise laden Pacific Southwest tennis tournament swung into another quarterfinal stage featuring Frank Sedgman Australia's No. one Lewis of player and 1951 American champion. But main tennis talk centers on Schroeder and his well earned triumph yesterday over the two Aussie cup star, Ken McGregor. Durable Ted., always the competitor, defeated McGregor before a wildly cheering gallery, 6-0-6, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. It was McGroeder's play than the scorer itself which gave rise to the Davis cup talk. "If Ted can play tennis like that, with only four or five days practice, why shouldn't he be the Davis cup team?" half quoted, half demanded Perry T. Jonas secretary of the Tennis Patron association, and the man responsible for California's "mass production" of net stars for the past 25 years. Mt. Rainier National park, the state of Washington, was established by an act of Congress in 1899. MODEST MAIDENS WE MUST FIND A PLACE WHERE WE CAN TALK!
