Anaheim Gazette FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 1951 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA Be At Church Sunday Anaheim Grace Lutherans to Note National Parish Education Series In keeping with the observance of the National Lutheran Council Church's of America program, Anaheim's Grace Lutheran church will set aside the next four Sundays to observe the program of parish education. During this time a special endeavor will be made to instill in the hearts of the people that the importance of Christian training has not in the least diminished. The entire program and all the services will be geared to the theme "Teach My People." Pastor H. F. Stief will present a series of sermons on the theme, the first of which will be presented Sunday and the subject will be "You Are Children Of God." Special emphasis will be placed on bringing every member of Grace Lutheran into the congregation at study. There is a class for every age in Grace Lutheran's congregation at study each Sunday at 9:30 am. The adult Bible class, taught by Pastor Stief, is currently studying the "Good News", the gospel of St. John. Wesley Methodist Schedules Duet The anthem "He Is My Song," by Grant Colfax Tullar, with soprano and baritone duet part by Margaret Elliott and John Albright, will be presented Sunday at the Wesley Methodist church. Bethel Baptist Announces Topic Sunday morning Bethel Baptist church will observe its monthly communion service with Rev. Berthold Jacksteil speaking on "The Church Empowered." The Bethel choir under the direction of Howard Greene will be back after a month's vacation, and will bring special music at both services. In the 7:30 evening service Rev. Jacksteil will preach on "The Power of God." Lutheran Pastor Poses Question "Is There A Life After Death?" is the question Pastor John Schumacher will put to the congregation of the Messiah Lutheran church Sunday at the 11 a.m. Divine Service. The church is located at Commonwealth and Stanton aves., in Buena Park. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. COPS NAIL DEUNK Alfred B. Cutten, San Diego, was fined $25 or 12½ days in the county jail this morning in the city court on a charge of drunkenness. Wesley Methodists Plan Census The membership of Wesley Methodist church is taking a religious census of the 72 blocks within one-half mile of the church. The purpose is to locate those not attending any Sunday School or Church. This will require 20 teams to make door calls from 2 to 4:30 this Sunday afternoon. Copper Workers Return Slowly DENVER (P)—At least half the workers in the copper, zinc and lead industries were expected back to work early today because of a U.S. district court order halting a strike. The court order was lashed at Denver Wednesday. But the return to jobs was slow yesterday with the largest number, 12,000, after Anaheim police officers found him in a drunken state trying to enter cars at the corner of Los Angeles and Center. Gazette carrier boys are rated on a point system under which work up to three different classes: First Class, Ace and Master. Ace rating requires a minimum of 500 points and most boys a couple of months to reach it. Not so Rodney, however. Less than a month after joining the carrier force on Route 3, northwest Anaheim he rang total of 580 points to reach rating and break all speed limits to date.
