Evering Services at White Temple
Unite Betty Siems-Gordon Mahoney
Impressive services at White Temple Methodist church last night united Miss Betty Siems, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Siems of Hansen rd. and Gordon Mahoney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harland Mahoney of 816 N. Helena st.
Double ring services were read by the Rev. Robert Kevorkian. Soft candlelight illuminated the altar, decorated in white gladiolus and chrysanthemums.
The pretty bride chose for her wedding attire a gown of white satin with a nylon net yoke and a bertha embroidered in pearls. The long tapered sleeves were pointed at the wrist and the skirt, gathered to a fitted waist, fell in a train. She carried a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis centered with a white orchid.

Good Fishing
Mr. and Mrs. Julian Porter Black of Hansen Manor returned from a fishing trip to the Encrada bay with a record catch of fish: baracuda, rock, cod, calico and kelp bass, sea trout, bonita and sheeps head.
With the hurricane blowing in about 100 miles per hour, they were grounded Monday and took in the Encrada Annual Flesta.
Tuesday, with a party of five, they went out on the Gaviota II: Fred Yarborough of Torrance, William R. Stack of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. James Hanna and Bill Nelson of Santa Monica and fished part of the day in a light rain. They even landed a full grown seal on the line and finally ended the struggle by shooting him. Wednesday, the harbor master tied all the boats up again, because of heavy rains.
Bob Adkinson Home on Leave
Bob Adkison, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Adkinson, Sr., of 7232 E. Cerritos, is home on leave from Fort Ord. He is receiving congratulations on the birth of a daughter, born Wednesday, at the hospital at Camp Pendelton.
Vicki weighs six pounds and 11 ounces. She and her mother, the former Norma Elleen Lane, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Warren C. Lane of 5859 Parapet, Lakewood Village, will make their home in Lakewood, while Bob goes with the infantry to Alaska for 18 months.
Arizona Minister To Give Sermon at Southern Baptist
Rev. Marvin E. Heard of Phoenix, Ariz., will speak from the pulpit of the First Southern Baptist church at both services Sunday. Southern Baptists are meeting temporarily in the VFW hall, 106 N. Philadelphia.
Rev. Heard is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist college, Arkadelphia, Ark., and the University of Arizona at Tucson. He worked with Pima Indians in Arizona for seven years doing missionary work, and was pastor of the First Baptist church of Gilbert, Ariz., for five years. He and his wife are visiting Mrs. Heard's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Dobkins on Harbor blvd.

Assisting were Mrs. Edward Siems of Berkeley, Mrs. Charles Siems of Beverly Hills and Mrs. Wilton Abplanalp of Anaheim, all auctions of the bride, and Eva Deasy, the bridegroom's aunt.
Mrs. Siems received guests in a dress of aqua lace and chiffon with a corsage of white orchids. Mrs. Mahoney wore a rose lace and crepe formal with a white orchid corsage.
For her Northern California honeymoon the bride chose a grey suit with violet accessories and the orchid from her bouquet. She is a graduate of Anaheim high school and Fullerton Junior college and is employed in Buena Park where they will make their home. The bridegroom is a graduate of Anaheim high school and is now employed there.

A pretty bridal shower in the home of Sue Lane, 224 E. South st., last night honored Miss Darleen Morris.
Co-hostesses were Lorraine Montijo and Marlyn Stueckle. The honoree will marry Lorraine Heinrich of Anaheim on Sept. 17.
Prizes for games played during the evening were awarded to Virginia Dutzl and Lorraine Montijo. Refreshments of ice cream, cake and punch were served after the honored guest had opened her many lovely personal gifts.
A dainty pastel blue umbrella centered the table.
Attending were Mrs. Dick Tozer, Mrs. John Bruce, Mrs. Chuck Hunt, Mrs. Alfred Spire, Mrs. Frank Krodei, Miss Helen Salaets, Miss Donna Fairchild and Miss Dutzl. Unable to be present were Miss Carol McDermott, Miss Annette Crenshaw, Miss Joan Kelly and Mrs. Garth Menges.

Thursday afternoon, the John Adkisons', Sr., their daughter, Mrs. Walter Teagarden and their son, Mr. and Mrs. John Adkison, Jr., all drove to Oceanside to see the new baby.
Assistance League Fashion Show Set
With Mrs. J. E. Walters as party chairman, plans are progressing for Anaheim Assistance League's annual fashion show and luncheon to be held at the Balboa Bay club on Sept. 25.
Decorations are to be handled by Mrs. Foster Warwick, assisted by Mrs. Charles Pearson, Mrs. Harry Horn and Mrs. John Woods.
Ticket chairmen are Mrs. Homer Ames and Mrs. Glen Peck. Mrs. Peter Fluor and Mrs. Arthur Elliott are in charge of prizes.
The fashion show will be presented by the Mary Millerick shop of Anaheim.
Eastern Star Plans Picnic on Sept. 4
Past Matrons and Past Patrons of the Anaheim Eastern Star will hold a picnic meeting at the south end of City park next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Those attending should bring their own table service and bread.

For Bethel Baptist Church Service
The pastor, Rev. Jacksteit, will be speaking on a very timely subject Sunday morning in Bethel Baptist church, "The Conscious of the Nation." The Sunday evening topic will be, "The Simplicity That Was in Christ."
Bethel Baptist church, one of the oldest churches in Anaheim is looking forward to a busy year under the leadership of Rev. Jacksteit. The newly-formed board of Christian Education under the chairmanship of the pastor met on Tuesday evening in the home of Herbert Bowen to lay plans for the fall and winter. A recommendation was acted upon, and passed by the church, to secure new nursery rooms and to employ a trained nursery worker. It was also decided to set up fully accredited Leadership Training school on Oct. 8, through the 12th. Four courses will be offered by well trained teachers. This training school will be open to the public without charge.
The members serving on the Board of Education are: Rev. Berthold Jacksteit, chairman; Dora Quast, Esther Leuschner; Donna Stabbert, Leola Bowen; Phillip Boettcher; Eugene Bressel; Herbert Bowen, Paul G. Jungkelt; Ervin Mabs; Robert Quast; Herbert W. Stabbert and Menno Thiesen.
Women of the Ladies' Guild of the Lutheran church of the Messiah are holding a bazaar in the church on Oct. 19, in Buena Park. Dinner will be served and hand-made articles and home cooked food put on sale.

Special music by the choir, including soprano and baritone duel "Take Up Thy Cross," sung by Margaret Elliott and John Albright, will highlight the Sunday morning service at Wesley Methodist church.
The Rev. McKinley Walker's sermon subject is "A Man For the Gap." Even in Ezekiel's city there was labor trouble, and he sought a man to build the breach in the wall. Rev. John Saville To Resume Duties
The Rev. John K. Saville, Mrs. Saville and their three children are returning to Anaheim this week-end. They have been vacationing during August at the family summer home located near Ophir, Ore.
Mr. Saville will resume his church duties at St. Michael's on Sunday, Sept. 2. Services will be: 8 a.m., Holy Communion, 10:30 service, at which time the rector will begin a series of sermons called "Sermons from Nature," beginning with "Finding God along the Highway" on Sept. 2; Sept. 9, "Salmon Fishing and the Elder Brother;" Sept. 16, "Mt. Shasta and Life's Growing Edge;" Sept. 23, "The enduring Christ and the Oregon Coast."

Search Continuing For Body of Navy Flyer on Catalina
LOS ANGELES (P) — Search continued today for the body of a Navy flier believed killed with three others in the crash of two Navy torpedo bombers on Santa Catalina island last Tuesday.
Bodies of the other three were found Wednesday in the wreckage of the aircraft. The planes were part of a mass evacuation of military aircraft from coastal areas before a storm which dissipated over Lower California.

37 Year Resident Of Anaheim Dies After Long Illness
Frederick Alexander Siegel, 78, a native of Germany and a resident of Anaheim for 37 years, died yesterday morning at a Fullerton Rest Home after a prolonged illness.
He leaves his wife, Anna Siegel; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Podlech of Los Angeles and Mrs. Anne Marle Taylor of Westwood; one sister, Mrs. Ella Mehler of Germany and three grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be conducted from the Hillgenfeld chapel Saturday morning. The family requests no flowers.
All associated riding clubs of Orange county are invited to attend a ride to Idyllwilde scheduled for the Labor Day week-end by the Carefree Riders' riding club. The Tri-City Wranglers are postponing their regular Saturday night dance so the dates will not conflict.
According to Lloyd Linton, Wranglers' president, the Saturday night dances will be resumed each Saturday starting Sept. 8.

LOS ANGELES (F)—The American Broadcasting Co. will use the new East-West microwave television link for five and a half hours a week, effective Sept. 20.
This was announced yesterday by Donn B. Tatum, video director of ABC's western division. Of this time, a half hour will originate in Hollywood and the rest in the east.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold F. Lewis of 10321 S. Stanton ave., will leave Sept. 1 for Cleveland, Ohio, Niagara Falls, and New York. They will return home via Rye, Colo., where Mrs. Lewis will visit her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Gleason, while Lewis goes elk hunting at Meeker, Colo., near the Wyoming border. They will be home about Nov. 1.
