'51-'52 Religious Education Program Curriculum Told The Christian Education committee of the Association of Christian Churches of Anaheim announces their choice of a complete curriculum of religious instruction for the Release Time Religious Education classes for the school year 1951-52. The committee, headed by Pastor Stief of Grace Lutheran church, reviewed a number of types of material now in use. Whole hearted agreement was reached on material published by the Parish Education committee of the American Lutheran Conference Churches of America. This material is especially geared to classes of the nature of Release Time. The entire series of courses for grades 4-8 are Bible based on such subjects as "Heroes of the Old Testament" for 4th grade; "Learning and Working With Jesus" for 5th grade; "Journey Through Bible Lands" for 6th grade; "Knowing Our Bible" for 7th grade and "Life In The Kingdom of God" for the 8th grade. All preliminary plans are underway for the organization of classes and arranging for the meeting of the same for this school year. The committee working with the Roman Catholic representative, Sister Henrietta, are arranging for contact with each child and parents of the Anaheim elementary schools. The school officials, headed by Lutherans Name Confab Delegates Fred Liebi and LeRoy Whitehead were named delegates to the California District Lutheran Brotherhood convention to be held Sunday, Sept. 2 at First Lutheran church, Ontario. Special messages will be heard from the International president of the American Lutheran Brotherhood, Carl Schock of Detroit, Mich. The local Brotherhood of Grace Lutheran will be represented by delegates, several other members including W. Fluegge, C. Benzel, H. C. Martens, H. Dickman, V. John and Pastor H. Steif. A special feature of this year's convention will be a clinic which will be held on Saturday evening preceding the convention. Topics will be presented pertinent to discussion. Mr. C. Stief of Grace Lutheran here in Anaheim will speak on "What I as Pastor expect of my Brotherhood." Dr. K. Koosemann, president of the California District of the American Lutheran church, will speak on "What the District expects of the Brotherhood." All preliminary plans are underway for the organization of classes and arranging for the meeting of the same for this school year. The committee working with the Roman Catholic representative, Sister Henrietta, are arranging for contact with each child and parents of the Anaheim elementary schools. The school officials, headed by the Superintendent Mr. P. Cook, have been most co-operative and sympathetic with the program. It is the hope of the committee that all parents in the community will avail themselves and their children of this fine opportunity to learn Christian truths.
