Strictly fabulous, knee deep in luxury and astronomical in price are the gowns, suits and coats currently dazzling the visiting fashion editors. The garment industry, at least, seems convinced that this country is going to have plenty of money to spend in the months just ahead and that women are going FREE IN The Sensational DISHM THE WONDERFUL PUS No Money IS ALI weekly wash dishes Strictly fabulous, knee deep in luxury and astronomical in price are the gowns, suits and coats currently dazzling the visiting fashion editors. The garment industry, at least, seems convinced that this country is going to have plenty of money to spend in the months just ahead, and that women are going to spend most of it on clothes that cost as much as a fringe-top surrey used to cost in the horse-and-buggy days. Notable among today's designer showings were those of Jo Copeland and Nettie Rosenstein, both ladies who like to see the feminine half of the population dressed to the teeth in satins, velvet, bangles and beads. Miss Copeland, who is credited with inventing that American favorite, the cocktail suit, gets a champagne touch in this year's clothes with evening gowns that glisten like a mermaid's scales, party dresses heaped with rich imported lace, even a rustling taffeta gown decorated not only with beads but also with feathers. Miss Rosenstein also applies the Midas touch to styles and price tags and panics the onlookers with such opulent numbers as a black girdle that looks as if it had been melted and poured on. Most of her after-five gowns are full-skirted and liberally sprinkled with metallic touches, jewels and lace. Another highlight of her collection is an evening gown in gold metallic tweed with the same stiff gold midriff. Just as sensational is a gown of gold metallic leopard print taffeta, complete with velvet stole. Lt. Col. Michael Mattis, former Anaheim resident and son of Mr. and Mrs. George Mattis, 861 S. Palm st., is in charge of supplies for Korea. His wife, Katherine, also formerly of Anaheim, and family are living on a dairy farm close to Camp Stoneman where the Lieutenant was transferred. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lake of Texas are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Reafsnyder for a few days. Both families then plan to drive up to Fresno where they will visit Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. This will be a reunion for the men who were stationed at Farragut, Idaho, base during World War II.
