ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA
Jean Ellen Ward-Kenneth Weatherman
Wed in Santa Ana Services Sunday
Tall white tapers, baskets of
white gladioli, and an arch entwined with baby breath formed
a pretty background Sunday for
the double ring ceremony uniting
Jean Ellen Ward, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ward of
12931 Lorna st., Garden Grove,
and Kenneth L. Weatherman, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Norman-Weatherman of 523 Janss st., Anaheim.
Vows were exchanged before Elder Wayne Hewes in the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints
in Santa Ana at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Entering the church on the
arm of her father, the bride was
gowned in traditional floor length
ivory satin with a tight waist,
pointed yoke bodice and long
tapering sleeves. A beautiful tiara of seed pearls and orange
blossoms held her fingertip veil.
The bridal bouquet was composed
of white gladioli centered around
a white orchid in the frame of a
heart. For something old she carried a handkerchief belongong to
her Grandmother.
Kenneth Cave played appropriate
selections of old love songs
at the piano preceding the ceremony. Miss Donna Wacker, a
close friend of the bride, sang "Be My Love," "I Love You Truly," and "The Lord's Prayer."
Mrs. Wayne Callihan, sister of
the bride, was matron of honor.
She wore an orchid taffeta gown
and carried a heart shaped bouquet of matching gladioli. Bridesmaids similar in style.
tion following the ceremony. The couple cut the first slice of the three-tiered wedding cake which was centered on a table of white. Those who assisted included Mrs. Dale Ward, Mrs. Glen Ward, and Mrs. Paul Steinhoff.
For traveling the bride wore a pink suit with gray accessories and the orchid from her bouquet as corsage.
The young couple attended Garden Grove High School. Mr. Weatherman is employed by Fred Croddy, Contractor. They will make their home at 420 No. Cleveland, Orange.

Cubs to Meet
The Anaheim Elks sponsored Cubs, Pack 102, have decided to hold their first of several summer meetings this Friday night at the La Palma park at 7:30 p.m.
Pack 102 council members meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Robertson of Janss st., planned to hold several summer meetings to hold interest and stimulate additional pop for the next year. Emphasis will be placed on having an enjoyable evening for all.
Awards will be given to some of the Scouts who earned them since the picnic at O'Niel park two months ago. There will be songs.
Kenneth Cave played appropriate selections of old love songs at the piano preceding the ceremony. Miss Donna Wacker, a close friend of the bride, sang "Be My Love." "I Love You Truly," and "The Lord's Prayer."
Mrs. Wayne Callihan, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore an orchid taffeta gown and carried a heart shaped bouquet of matching gladioli. Bridesmaids, in similar gowns, were Miss Anetta North, in a deep lavender taffeta, and Miss Ardeth Parsons, in yellow taffeta. Their bouquets were of matching gladioli in the form of a heart. Miss Nancy Stevens and Bob McClellan were in charge of the guest book.
Harold English of Santa Ana served as best man and the ushers and candle-lighters were Clifford Lee Weatherman, brother of the groom, and Sidney Powell.
Mrs. Ward chose a lavender Rayline sport dress with black accessories for the occasion while Mrs. Weatherman wore navy blue and white suit with navy blue accessories. Both mothers wore white dahlia corsages to complete their costumes.
Close friends and relatives went to the Ward home for the reception.
Mary Ellen Kay, Republic contract star, currently co-starring in western movies with Rex Allen and Allen "Rocky" Lane, lends a helping hand in publicizing the annual fireworks display sponsored by the Santa Ana Firemen on July 4. Featured in this year's patriotic event will be units from the El Toro Marine station, as well as the gigantic fireworks spectacle.
The load-line of a ship is generally known as Plimsoll's Mark, named after Samuel Plimsoll, 19th century British social reformer whose efforts were directed against overloaded, unsafe "coffinships."

¼ cup sugar
6 lemon-fruit gelatin molds
½ cup whipping cream
1 teaspoon confectioner's sugar
½ teaspoon lemon juice
Wash, hull and halve strawberries, sprinkle with sugar. Make lemon gelatine using juice from can of salad fruit with water for balance of liquid. Mold in individual, fancy-shaped molds. When firm, turn molds into individual comports, surround with berries, place in refrigerator. To serve: top with whipped, flavored cream.
BASIC FRUIT MOLD
1 pkg. lime gelatine
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 can cocktail fruits
Put a can of cocktail fruits through the food mill or sieve. Measure fruits and juices and add water to make 2½ cups. Heat to near boiling, add lemon juice and pour over lime gelatine. Allow to cool at room temperature, stirring frequently. Chill.
