JACKSON'S DRUG Remember—MONDAY, JUNE 25—8 P.M. be on how to get along with the planning commission?. WARNING—Take it easy! Summer begins today. Tomorrow everyone and his brother heads for the beach. With a hundred thousand folks jamming the beaches, life guards will be busy hauling the too brave from the water. AND—when you drive take it easy. With all of those people going to the beach, there'll be an awful lot of drivers. BRIEFLY NOTED — Herbert Crossland went to sleep and awoke with a jolt. Y'see, the Anaheimer went to sleep at the wheel, the car he was driving ran off the road and hit a lightpost. It wasn't so long ago that Vic Holbrook was a star junior college athlete. Now he's a mat star—a grunt and groan expert. The Albert Flints are going back to see the Empire State. They'll appreciate sunny (?) Southern California more when they return. Mark Gonzales didn't watch where he was walking, it seems. The elderly man was injured after he apparently yielded the right-of-way to a truck. Don't trust anyone—not even a truck. Don't think that piggy bank burglary at the Leonard Conrad hacienda will be solved so fast. Money must be mighty scarce when burglars have to break into a house to life a piggy bank containing 10 buck's worth of change. Jackie agreed, "Sure, Bob, I will!" Almost after Jack was handed his high school diploma, the St. Louis Cardinal people got Jack's signature on the dotted line. The kid was jubilant. He forgot to call Zimmer, who almost blew a fuse when he read the dispatch on the news ticker: "Jack Ramsey, 18-year-old Fullerton high school graduate today signed a St. Louis Cardinal contract and will be optioned to their Presno farm club..." In this humble ad After several years of using impoverished meeting places for their worship, a group of Presbyterians under the leadership of Rev. L. P. Weber built Anaheim's first church in 1869. In this humble edifice Rev. Weber, who later founded the city of Westminster, led the pioneers in worship for many years. The church was the forerunner of the many other fine structures and church groups that were soon to help the Mother Colony become a city. In 1889, only 20 years after Anaheim's first place of worship was built, the Savings Loan and Building Association of Anaheim was founded by a group of local people to supply the growing town with savings and loan organization. Today, the same pioneer company under the direction of local, friendly people, still serves the Anaheim area extending cooperation and helpful service such as contributed to the community's growth since 1889.
