Evening Services at Monrovia Church Unite Patricia Jeffries-Leonard Kreidt Charming simplicity marked the early evening services Friday which united Patricia Jeffries of this city and Leonard W. Kreidt, also of Anaheim, at the First Lutheran church in Monrovia. Double ring nuptials were read by the Rev. E. H. Trapp, father of the bridegroom, before an altar decorated with spring flowers in varying shades of pink and lilac. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in a smart lilac linen duster worn over a matching marquisette dress. Her arrangement of Vanda orchids was carried on a white Prayer book and she wore a string of pearls belonging to the bridegroom's mother. Matron of honor was Joan Ingram who wore a matching ensemble in pink linen and marquisette and carried a bouquet of pink shattered carnations. Ray Trapp was best man. Sololist, Fred Dettbarn, was accompanied by George Shoeder. He sang "O Perfect Love." Wedding supper followed the service at the Chapel Inn in Duarte with 40 guests attending. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Talley chose a dress in beige raw silk with purple accessories. The bridegroom's mother wore brown silk with gold accessories. The new Mrs. Kreidt is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Talley of Rio Hondo Parkway. Her husband is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. E. H. Trapp and is assistant editor of the Anaheim Ga- McKelvey-Elvers Rites at White Temple Methodist Miss Kathleen McKelvey was a lovely bride Saturday morning as she repeated vows with Meil Elvers before the altar of White Temple Methodist church. The Rev. Frank Butterworth, pastor, officiated. Escorted by her father, she wore a dress of white organdy with matching hat and accessories. Her bouquet of white carnations was centered with a cluster of pink rosebuds. Maid of honor, Miss Joida Sue Traylor, wore a pink dress with matching hat and a bouquet of carnations. Best man was A. D. Downs. The bride is the daughter of Mr. H. O. McKelvey of Santa Ana and is in her senior year at Anaheim high school. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Dickenson of this city. He is employed as a machinist. They will reside at the Biltmore apartments in Anaheim. Ways and Means Committee to Plan League Activities Assistance League ways and means committee will meet with Mrs. Joe Walters tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m., to decide on programs for the coming year and service at the Chapel Inn in Duarte with 40 guests attending. Ball rd. in honor of Father's Day. Assisting the host and hostess was their daughter, Joan. Youngsters usually like toast spread with peanut butter and served with heated, seasoned canned tomatoes. Optimist Talent Show Tonight at High School The local talent show "Going Places" sponsored by the Optimists Club to benefit the Optimists' Building Fund, will be presented at Anaheim High School Auditorium tonight and tomorrow evening, June 18-19. Curtain time each evening will be at 8:16 P.M. The entire show is based around Uncle Billy Watson, who is portrayed by Harwood Larson. Uncle Billy is retiring Station Master at Hometown, U.S.A. As he leaves through his clippings in his scrapbook, the interesting events and celebrities he remembers come to life on stage. A cast of approximately 150 people present eight complete, and centirely different scenes to make up the two hours of entertainment offered in the show. They include: Scene I—Union Station—Everybody's Going Places. Scene II—Kiddies Birthday Party—a group of children come to the station to give Uncle Billy a special program of songs and routines. The highlight of the scene is the story of Cinderella as told by Miss Mary Margaret, played by Mrs. Ruth Wines. Specialties are done by Linda Fassel, Judy Lewis, and Bobby Burgess. Salaets of this city. The bride wore an afternoon dress of pale yellow organdy with white accessories and a corsage of tailsman roses. Matron of honor and her only attendant was Mrs. Beverly Webster of Long Beach, who wore a navy blue dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink and white gladiolus. James Meyers, a close friend of the bridegroom was best man. Reception honors took place in the home of Mrs. Jeanette Mims, 1118 E. 1st st. Long Beach with relatives and friends in attendance. A large group was in attendance to see colored slides of Alaska and the work of the mission in that country. Devotions were led by Mrs. John Lynn and Mrs. Don Chamberlain presented the program. The hostess served chocolate cake during the refreshment hour. During the business meeting the group discussed plans for the fall fashion show and tea with Mrs. William Ross appointed general chairman of the affair. The event is scheduled for August 11 at 2 p.m. in the home of Mrs. C. P. Tompkins on W. Alberta st. The SQR will present the latest fall fashions modeled by three generations, children, parents and grandmothers. Donation tickets are $1.00 and will be on sale July 1 by the members. H. G. Schmelzer in one of the oldest homes in Anaheim last Saturday. Walter Satzke, brother of the bride, gave her in marriage. Mrs. Schmelzer played the Wedding March and Mr. and Mrs. Albert H. Pape were witnesses for the couple. The wedding ceremony was conducted in the living room of the Pape home, 8871 Euclid ave., amid a bower of spring flowers. Following the service Mrs. Pape served a four-course wedding dinner attended by the honored couple and the wedding party. The table was centered with pink and white sweet peas and a three-tiered wedding cake. The bride wore a tailored gray suit with a corsage of white gardenias on her shoulder. Mrs. Pape wore a gray print summer dress also with an accent of gardenias. Mr. and Mrs. Resheske will spend a week or 10 days visiting Yosemite, Fresno and in that vicinity.
