Anaheim's industry-seeking promotors this week can mark progress of the most satisfying sort. Their campaign to industrialize the city, carried on in many ways for many years, has achieved its stated aim. Anaheim is the industrial center of Orange county and so far, in spite of plagiaristic attempts to parallel the city's industrial success, no other city in the county has approached even close to the size of its recent industrial establishment.
Latest triumph was scored when Daystrom Furniture Corp., decided to move to the southeast industrial section of this city.
Already a huge earth fill has been completed at the South st., and Santa Fe railroad track side of the new plant and construction is soon to get under way. Already the walls of a large warehouse are up for the corporation at 116 W. Elm st.
Daystrom Corp.'s move to Anaheim was dictated by several factors, most important of which the need for roomier quarters more modern facilities.
The present Daystrom plant Fullerton, is a converted processing plant—not ideally ed to the manufacture of tu plastic-covered furniture. Of interest to Anaheimers, undearly, is the fact that this was able to offer the Day Corp., more desirable sites which to choose and display willingness to co-operate in using the company to find the suitable location.
Daystrom's manufacturing cess involves three major points:
1. Production of the chipped metal bases for the k furniture for which Daystrom widely known.
2. Manufacture of plastic tops and plastic upholstery.
3. Assembly of the fin products.
Of the processes, manufactuer steel tubing from flat strip metal seems most interesting is done by a machine 60 or feet long which shapes the through a series of interlog rolling wheels and then fuses seam together by means round, turning electrode w utilizes both pressure and trically-produced heat.
The tube then goes through series of bathing and polis operations before it is cut off the proper length for bending chair or table legs or backs.
Daystrom employs around workers in the Fullerton facl Company officials estimate employment in the new Ana plant will ultimately reach 35,400 workers if growth continues as anticipated.

Anaheim and Orange county—area originally agricultural.
The citrus and walnut industry likewise, played an important role in the civic development; like the once fabulous sugar industry they were part of agrarian culture which is be gradually strangled by an influx of population.
For to World War II, it would have been sheer folly to rip up orange groves for buildings human habitation. But that's going of the past.
The last decade, Anaheim has become a manufacturing center. Industrial growth was slow. Bi-product plants, replaced old winery and the sugar facility.
