Anaheim Gazette THURSDAY, APRIL 26, 1951 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA Anahelmer Sends Plow to Pakistan — Reaches Japan Lyle Johnson, president of the California Young Farmers at Santa Ana college was surprised to note that the plow donated to a farmer in Pakistan finally ended up on the farm of a Japanese citizen. Several months ago the Santa Ana college agriculture students together with their instructor donated $10.00 to buy a plow for a farmer in Pakistan. However, the plow was sent to Nagle Kishimoto, a citizen of Japan, village of Indoawa-muru, county of Kamogun, and state of Shizuokaken. Lyle Johnson, president of the California Young Farmers resides at R. R. I., 8332 Ball rd., Anaheim, California. He is the son of Emima Gartner of Anaheim. MAJOR WILLIAM LEAR ON USS M.T. M'KINLEY After months of rigorous duty in Korean waters, Maj. William R. Leer, USMC, son of Mr. and Mrs. Olie Lear of 753 No Clementine ave., Anaheim is getting a "sailor's sole view" of the Orient as his ship, the amphibious force flagging USS M.T. M'Kinley, visits some of the major Japanese ports. The ship served in Korea since the outbreak of hostilities, and was General Macarthur's command ship for the Inchon invasion September 15.
