Program chairman, Louise Miller, gave some of the history and purposes of the sorority explaining that they are trying to carry out their motto of "Life, Learning, and Friendship." Most of the programs are planned and carried out by the members themselves, but occasionally outside speakers are asked to contribute. Louise introduced the narrator, Anna Claire Mauerhan, who dressed in colorful South American dress. Mildred Mauerhan who was the photographer on the trip assisted by acting as operator of the project. Anna Claire stated that their trip covered more than 25,000 miles by air, boat and train. The pictures were in color which made everyone feel as though they were actually there. South America is a country of contrasts—from modern cities to the Indians' tiny huts. The ancient ruins of the Incas were also very interesting.
