Anaheim Gazette THURSDAY, APRIL 19, 1911 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA Albert Meyer Passes at 80 Albert Meyer, 1111 Pearl, died Sunday at the age of 80 years. He was born in Wisconsin and has been a resident of Anaheim since 1918. Surviving him are his wife, Anna B.; two daughters, Mrs. Erma Schnepp of San Bernardino, and Mrs. Lillian Haymaker of Anaheim and one grandchild. Services will be conducted from Racks, Campbell and Kaulbars Chapel Friday at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Howard S. Congdon officiating. Interment will be at Anaheim Cemetery. Long Silence (Continued from Page 1) were heard. But there was nothing more and no sign of wreckage and no survivors bobbing up through the escape hatches of the sunken sub. The search which got underway Tuesday morning, immediately after the Affray failed to report, has been a heartbreaking effort for more than 2000 rescue workers. There was one moment of high hope late yesterday afternoon. An airplane radioed it had spotted two objects—one yellow and one white. It dropped a sea flare near the spot. A dozen ships, summoned by radio, converged on the spot. Then came the disappointment. The yellow object was a pinewood packing case tossed aside by some ship. The white object appeared to be a dead fish. George Schmitt Died On August 7, 1911 George Schmitt Dies in Orange George A. Schmitt, father of Major Charles A.
