Songs and singing games are to be presented by other 2nd and 3rd grade Brownies. Following a sack lunch, the afternoon was spent in giving original skits, songs and general fun at the playground.
Last week Jo Ann Plagel gave a supper party for Troop No. 3. The intermediate Scouts accompanied by their leaders, Mrs. Ver Schultz and Mrs. Arnold Plagel then enjoyed an evening of roll skating at Buena Park. April 14 this troop was the special guest of the Reverend Walter Flugge and enjoyed a delicious waffle supper, home made ice cream and cake. The fun of troop camping was experienced again as they watched a movie of their troop on the mountains of Idlewild; showing Carol Wilkerson, Dorotha Flugge, Gayle Newkirk, Salie and Kathaline Cordus, Jane and Jude Ice Troutman. After the installation of officers, Mrs. Donald Pannier, program chairman, introduced Miss Anna Claire Mauerhan, who appeared in South American Indian dress, complete with derby, to escort Katella families on tour of South America, via color films, to a land of contrasts—from the low lands of luxuriant jungle growth to the high Andes where there are 'no trees at all, from modern cities with palatial architecture to the Indians' tiny thatched shacks and ancient ruins of the Incas. One of the most exciting highlights of the trip was huge Iguassu Falls, a series of falls twice the size of Niagara. Barbara Mauerhan helped to model one of the costumes of the Indians of Otavalo; and dolls, textiles and other handicraft brought back from South America were on exhibit.
Mrs. Brownfield adjourned the meeting for the social hour. Mrs. K. Shigekawa, tea hostess, and the fourth and fifth grade room mothers were in general charge of tea arrangements. Mrs. R. G.
