P-TA INSTALLATION—New officers of the Lincoln School P-TA were installed yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. Zuver Honored At Layette Shower
Topperettes gathered at the home of Mrs. Betty Marr for a surprise layette shower given for Mrs. Rosemary Zuver.
Assisting Mrs. Marr as hostesses were Mrs. Sybil Ring and Mrs. Betty MacMillan.
Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Jean Chamberlain, Mrs. Corraine Deverall and Mrs. Zuver.
Following the shower a business meeting was held. Special hostesses were chosen for the Mothers' Day celebration to be held at Ruby's in Fullerton at 7.

Newly elected officers of the Lincoln School P-TA were installed yesterday afternoon by Mrs. Ivan Anderson, past president of the organization.

Local Families Add Three New Citizens
Three new citizens were added to the Anaheim directory last week when three local families became the parents of two baby girls and a boy.
Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Pollares, 10915 Garza, are the parents of a 6-pound 12-ounce girl born Tuesday at Orange County hospital.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gene Richards, 200 N. Citron, on Tuesday at Fullerton General hospital.
Assisting Mrs. Marr as hostesses were Mrs. Sybil Ring and Mrs. Betty MacMillan.
Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Jean Chamberlain, Mrs. Corraine Deverall and Mrs. Zuver.
Following the shower a business meeting was held. Special hostesses were chosen for the Mothers' Day celebration to be held at Ruby's in Fullerton at 7 p.m. on May 8. Hostesses will be Mrs. Eleanor LaPorto, Mrs. Margie Long and Mrs. Marr.
Those present at the affair were the Mmes. Hazel Beunnel, Reda McConaughy, Vangie Schumacher, Lorraine Whitney, Charlene Zaggers and Miss Thelma Woods.
The May meeting of the Topperettes will be held at the home of Mrs. Maxine Kirkhart, 911 N. Palmst. Assisting Mrs. Kirkhart as hostesses will be Mrs. Katherine Heitzman and Mrs. Peggy Hoag.
Stanton Lady Lions were recently hosted by Mrs. Calvin Pebley, 7182 E. Ball rd. Mrs. Leona Gautschy, president, conducted the business meeting. The group decided to purchase venetian blinds as a gift to the Lions clubhouse and to send a donation to the Red Cross.

New officers of the organization include Mrs. James Webb, vice-president; Mrs. D. R. Watt, secretary; Mrs. Allen Koch, treasurer; Mrs. Duncan Powers auditor; Miss Adele Howard, historian; and Mrs. Ted Dinkler, parliamentarian.
The business meeting was opened by Mrs. William Hutton who introduced P. S. Doane, Lincoln school principal. Mr. Doane announced the forthcoming Public Schools week and told of the program to be given on Friday, April 27, at 2 p.m. at the Lincoln school.
Miss Irene Schoeply, superintendent of music for Orange county, spoke on the importance of music to children. She said that music is needed by children and that by participating in group singing children receive a feeling of belonging to the group as well as having a form of self-expression.
Mrs. Wilfred Edilbrock, who has taken the place of Miss Mabel Barnes as fifth grade teacher, was introduced to the group.
Decoration on the tea table were pink flowers, candles and pink frosted cakes.
Hostesses were the Mmes. Raymond Beatty, Paul Elliott, and W. M. White, fourth grade room mothers. Pouring were Mrs. Ivan Anderson and Miss Adele Howard.

La Palma Girl Scouts, Brownies Hold Tree Planting Ceremony
Carnival Date Set For April 20 by Fremont P-TA
Plans for the Fremont P-TA carnival to be held on Friday, April 20, were the main topic of discussion at the recent meeting of the board held in the school cafeteria.
The event, originally set for April 6, but postponed because of unsuitable weather, will run from 4 to 9 p.m., and will include fun booths, games, food and a student talent show.
The public is invited to attend the carnival. Proceeds will go into the welfare fund of the Fremont P-TA.
Public School Week will be held at Fremont on Tuesday, April 24, at 7 p.m.
Included on the program will be instrumental and vocal groups which will entertain in the auditorium and demonstrations by Miss Adah Wilcox and Mr. Carl Berneker, physical education instructors. Classrooms will be open to visitors.
New officers and chairmen will be guests of the outgoing officers and chairmen at the May board meeting to be held in the City park.
Board members at the recent meeting were served coffee and doughnuts by Mrs. George Winters. Inspiration thought for the
Girl Scout and Brownie troops of the Anaheim district participated yesterday in tree-planting ceremonies at the La Palma Scout grounds.
The ceremonies were part of the official dedication of elm trees planted by the Botts nursery for the purpose of beautifying the camp ground.
Each participating troup placed a marker on or near the tree to indicate that they were donating the tree. In the future the troops will help in the care of their marked trees.
While the trees are young now, when they grow to full height they will shade the outdoor camping area.
In addition to the tree planting rites many of the troop took part in the group projects. Several girls of the George Washington troop illustrated the methods of teaching games to another group. This was a means of earning badges for recreation.
A second group illustrated typical group activity that occurs during a Scout or Brownie meeting. They played the elephant game.
The day's activities also included a play day for the Brownies and girls George Washington during which troop members participated in the tree planting rites, elephant game and game teaching.
Those who earned badges by teaching another group a game are Shirley Burgcss, Patsy Bowden, Linda Howe, Margaret Olvera, Mildred Hernandez, Helen
Miss Adan Wilcox and Mr. Carl Berneker, physical education instructors. Classrooms will be open to visitors.

Zion Lutheran P-TA Officers Elected
Mrs. Norman Keup is the new president of Zion Lutheran P-TA following election of officers held yesterday.
Others elected to office are Mrs. Ray Young, vice president, Mrs. Frank Cozza, secretary, Mrs. H. M. Bizzle treasurer and Mrs. C. M. Hazard, historian and publicity.
The following were named as co-chairmen to committees: Mrs. Gil Reinemann and Mrs. Vern Schutz, auditing, and Mrs. Roy Kliff and Mrs. Cozza, welcoming for April.
During the meeting plans for a special mother's day service were made. It is planned that choral groups for Orange county Lutheran schools will participate in the service.
The group discussed plans for a three-week Bible class session to be held during the summer months. The session will probably begin immediately following the end of the school semester.
It was further announced that classes will not be dismissed for the circus. Those students attending the circus will not be excused.

Ebell Members Attend Conclave
Several members of the Ebell club attended the Annual Convention of Orange County Federation of Women's clubs, held today in Costa Mesa.
During the program the group heard a talk given by Stephen W. Dana, assistant professor of geology, University of Redlands. They participated in election of federation officers.
Local residents attending the convention were Mmes. R. H. Beckler, Wilbert Bonney, Charles Bush, Albert Cranston, M. A. Gauer, Ben Kaulbars, George LaFollette, C. C. Reinert, William Rickel, Lloyd Ross, John Wilkson and W. E. Whiteman.

Bible Class Holds Potluck Supper
Thirty members and friends of the Bible class of the Nazarene church gathered last night for a pot luck supper at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Anderson, 114 E. Wilhelmina.
New officers were elected at the business meeting. They are Mrs. Netta Preston, president; Mrs. Netta Anderson, vice-president and Mrs. John Neuschafer, secretary and treasurer.
Games and contest made up the social hour. Special honors were given to all those who had recently celebrated birthdays or anniversaries. Congratulations were given by Dr. D. Shelby Corlette, pastor of the Nazarene church.

White Shrine Seats 3 Local Residents
Three local residents were installed recently as officers of the White Shrine at the Masonic temple in Fullerton.
Mrs. Mark Reagan was installed as the Worthy High Priestess while her husband became the Watchman of the Shepherds. Mrs. Etta Countess was installed as the Worthy Treasurer.
Other new officers include Dr. Ada Hawkins of Brea, Noble Prophetess; Newton Abrahams of Sunset Beach, Associate Watchman of the Shepherds; Mrs. Rose Schalles of Fullerton, Worthy Chaplin; Mrs. Marie Griffith of Fullerton, Worthy Shepherdess; Mrs. Callie Abrahams of Sunset Beach, Worthy Guide; and Mrs. Dorothy Ross of Orange, Worthy Scribe.
Installing officers were Caryl Snyder of Buena Park, past Watchman of the Shepherds, and Mrs. Bessie Stahley of Placentia, past Worthy High Priestess.
Refreshments were served at a reception at the Temple following the installation ceremonies.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Jeanette Allen) Stockon are making their home at 205½ Ocean ave., Seal Beach. Mrs. Stockon is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Allen of Stanton. Stockon is associated with his father, C. M. Stockon, managing the Seal Beach pier.
