The marriage will take place March 2. Bridal shower and companion Valentine theme were interwoven beautifully in the decorations. Centerpiece for the table was made of two cupids with a gold wedding ring between them on a heart-shaped platform. This panorama was backed with a large red cupid holding a pair of hearts and American Beauty roses. Individual heart shaped cakes, decorated with red candy hearts, were served each guest. Tiny, gold foil, wedding rings topped each cake and ice cream with heart-shaped centers, candy, tea and coffee filled out the dessert menu. Guessing bridal games were entertainment for the evening. Guests attending were: Mrs. Helen Watkins, Mrs. Keller Watson, Mrs. Lyle Widdows, Mrs. Barbara Clark, Mrs. Lou Bailey, Mrs. Kenneth Wire, Betty Purcell, Mrs. Maxine Flagherty, Mrs. William Carriker, Mrs. John Huneker, and Mrs. Katherine Hillebrecht. Dear Mr. Loly: Your January 18 letter asks that we enter your order for one Baroque 23" wafer. You also asked that we advise when you might expect delivery. No doubt you have received our January 10 notice in which we explained that certain new government regulations make it impossible to say just how much longer we shall be able to produce plated hollow ware. It seems that we shall be able to make little, if any, after April, 1951. Until we have an opportunity to survey our metal which will be available and review our productive capacity with regard to those orders presently active in our files, we shall be unable to say for certain whether or not your order will be filled. Necklines Meet Waistlines in Spring Showings PARIS — Spanish couturier Antonio de Castillo was greeted with an almost "dior" type of ovation at his debut here. He showed the spring fashions he had designed for the old established House of Lanvin. Castillo, who spent four years as chief designer for Elizabeth Arden in New York, says he will leave for the United States next month to create an entirely different set of fashions just for American women. They will be sold under a Castillo-Lanvin label. Main points in his show were sloping "bottle neck" shoulders, "morning glory" skirts and gaping necklines that stood out and away from the skin. Mrs. Margaret Riley, 10572 Court st., entertained Mrs. Bessie Dikeman of Phoenix, Arizona, for two weeks. WHITE Gazette Home Economist day of keeping up with the times is to go down and have a look around. I returned home and beake my hat off, want to about the things I saw. I get tired of my own balls" and have a spare two, it is a welcome to slip out of my house slacks and pretty up a visit to Anaheim's shopier. First time I did it, my sole was to treat myself to a bed I felt a little guilty whole thing. But I came refreshed by the change delighted at having met I had not seen for ages a lot of ideas about the be so troublesome. A plastic spool rack holds forty-two spools to save hunting through a sewing box for the darn things and of course speeds color matching. The magnetic pin bin "holds your pins upright in a gentle grip so they are always on file at your finger tip." You are really set for sewing when you combine the pin bin with a magic thimble (price 15 cents) that besides being an efficient thimble, also incorporates a needle threader and a tiny knife for cutting thread! Food For Thought When I stopped in at Safeway to pick up a loaf of Mrs. Wright's budget priced bread, I found Safeway manager, Joe Richardi, trimming the outer leaves from fresh, den in New York, says he will leave for the United States next month to create an entirely different set of fashions just for American women. They will be sold under a Castillo-Lanvin label. Main points in his show were sloping "bottle neck" shoulders, "morning glory" skirts and gaping necklines that stood out and away from the skin. His whole silhouette follows the well-proportioned, natural line—uncluttered by padding of any description—which Dior favored yesterday. Castillo's gaping necklines, used throughout on dresses, suits and even coats, stand well away from the neck all around, often framing the entire shoulders. His "morning glory" skirts were cone shaped with a deep bottom ruffle, frequently in contrast material, that looked like a half-stretched concertina. His sloping shoulder line is achieved either by a very intricate raglan cut or merely by being cut in one with the bodice, sloping straight down from the stand-away neckline. Mystery fastenings are introduced on suit jackets butting to the waist above basques which stretch in one piece across the stomach. Blouses and bodices on shirt-waist styles and suit jackets were shown a lot. Castillo uses slender styles with wrap-around skirts. The wrap always finishes at th. back in a cutaway, shorter line. Navy blue dresses have enormous shawl or cape collars in white pique. Apart from a lot of that shade, Castillo's color scheme ranges through every kind of yellow from buttercup to chamois. He introduces "blarritz" blue, like a very gay delphinium, and "Castillo" ruby red. Waistlines throughout are well molded and tend to drop slightly at back. He rarely belts them. The Spaniard shows topcoats and short cape-coats very widely cut and gathered into a tiny yoke around the neck. He introduces dresses and coats with "trench coat" capes set at the top of the back bodice. Another design or debuting first time I did it, my sole was to treat myself to a dress I felt a little guilty for whole thing. But I came refreshed by the change in delight at having met a lot of ideas about the styles, trends in home bags and the new products market that weekly winning in Anaheim is now must" list. I was entranced with tips of maple furniture window of Aaron Schultz. Included wall paper, and accessories and gave of color combinations I thought of with colonial ties. Food For Thought When I stopped in at Safeway to pick up a loaf of Mrs. Wright's budget priced bread. I found Safeway manager, Joe Richardi, trimming the outer leaves from fresh, firm heads of local cauliflower, Joe says it has taken a big drop in price and the quality is excellent. I know a good buy when I see one, so we are having cauliflower for dinner tonight. Well, where have I been? Something new has been added to the produce department at Alpha Beta; bare root rose bushes, climbing roses, camillias and philodendrum. George McKool, department manager, tells me that they are all number one stock and priced very low because of the saving Alpha Beta effects by purchasing such large quantities. And say, Alpha Beta has good buys in large size Fuerte avocados, a nice addition to Lenten meals and good size Winesap apples with nary a blemish. This week's tiny prices on Alpha Beta's apples as well as carrots and big bunches of celery are amazing. New Location There have been some changes made. Mercury Stationers and Printers have moved to 228 E. Center st., and the grand new store is a honey. I had no idea a party department could be so complete. This division of the store is set up to handle party arrangements and features centerpieces for party rentals, favors, tallies, place cards, personalized matches and a host of other things to make a party a huge success. very gay delphinium, and "Castillo" ruby red. Another designer debuting in Paris was 32-year-old "Bill" Underwood from Belle, Mo. He created all the spring fashions shown by Marcel Rochas. The young American features a lot of hip interest with tiered fullness set like a series of kangaroo pouches on one side. Steep necklines veer off to the opposite side in the same type of drape. Underwood, who used to be draughtsman-engineer in the army before branching out into dress designing, had his models wear a new "belge" makeup, devoid of all rouge, used with brown lip-stick. He shows bib-capes that dip in a deep point back and front, usually covered with heavy lace. Neat looking pencil-lined dresses have a cowl scarf in chiffon draped across the bust. Many dresses have an insert apron of drapery that falls in tiers from waist to hem at the back only. Other highlights were wig-hats made of purple lacquered straw entwined across the nape of the neck and finishing in two enormous "earphones" over the ears. The American shows the most daring neckline seen so far this spring. It was a wide plunge that penetrated nearly to the waist on a slinky number in ecru lace laid over powder blue taffeta. Eloise Smith Hostess To Tri-City Council Members of the Tri-City Council met recently at the home of Miss Eloise Smith.
