FILL IT UP—Filling up any empty space in this trophy cabinet became the immediate undertaking of the Anaheim high school band this week after it was presented to them by Superintendent Pa H. Demaree. The cabinet had been given to the school by the class of '50. So far the band has already made a good invasion, placing 28 of its trophies in the case. Included in the collection, which won almost all oh parade work, are one sweepstakes, ten first places, five seconds, and several participation. Arabian Festival At White Temple
Climaxing its four-week School of Missions study of the nations of the Near East. White Temple Methodist church will present a colorful "Arabian Nights Festival," open to the public, in its dining hall at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, under the auspices of the local church Board of Missions, of which Mrs. Albert Stokes is chairman.
Authentically garbed hosts and hostesses, dressed in real Arabian costumes, will greet the guests and show them around an exhibit of curios from the Moslem lands. Genuine Bedouin recipes will furnish unique refreshments typical of these nations, and an entertainment program will be provided.
Guests are then urged to remain for the evening service, at which time the Masterworks Chorale, directed by Allen Lannom, will present a concert.

Estimates that the site would cost citizens of the city $200,000 in higher insurance rates were presented at that time, but the council majority yesterday held that the increase would be little more than $40,000; the city being reduced from fourth class to fifth class rating.
Councilman Courtney Chandler opposed the motion to select the parking lot site "for reasons previously stated." These reasons, as he had expressed them earlier, were primarily the loss of a needed parking space downtown, and secondly, unsuitability of the site because of the narrow street and other conditions set forth.

WASHINGTON (AP)—California Senators solicited Senate support today for a move to get a Supreme Court settlement of the California-Arizona controversy over use of the waters of the Colorado river.
Senators Knowland and Nixon, California Republicans, sent letters to each of the 94 other Senators urging that the controversy be settled before Congress authorizes the proposed Central Arizona water and power project.
Along with the letters went a table showing each state's share of an estimated $2,075,729,000 interest charge to finance the $708 million project over a 75-year period.
Knowland also inserted in the Congressional record copies of letters sent by the California Senators to Secretary of the Interior Oscar Chapman and Budget Director F. J. Lawton.
In their letter to Chapman, the Senators requested answers to 24 questions about engineering and financial details of the Central Arizona project. They noted that the bill introduced this year differs "in certain important respects" from the project as outlined in the Interior department report of Sept. 16, 1948.
