Associate Chambers of Commerce will meet the 24th of April for the decision of the judges, whose names will be announced previous to the set date. Trophy will be the permanent possession of the winning community. Each locality entering the contest will decide upon a plan for a civic beautification project to be undertaken and will submit a report to the judges not later than April 10th. Judging will be based on completeness of the report, progress made and the method of presentation; scrapbooks are suggested. Relative sizes of the various communities participating will be weighed by the judges in consideration of the decision. That takes care of 50% of the points. Twenty-five per cent will be based on local participation, including organizations, clubs, etc., and the last 25% will be based on the extent of publicity used to further the aim. It is the hope of the Civic Beautification committee, sponsor of the contest, that all Orange county communities, regardless of size, will take part in this contest. The co-operation of local garden clubs, service organizations and Chambers of Commerce will result, not only in a successful contest, but in stimulating interest in making beautiful Orange county a garden spot in California.
