Gerrie Gibson Tells Betrothal News on Christmas Eve
Engagement of Miss Gerrie Gibson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Gibson, 10042 E. Ball rd. and Paul Fischer, son of Rev. and Mrs. Otto A. Fischer, Santa Ana, was announced at a dinner Christmas eve at the home of Miss Gibson's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Schluntz, 10072 E. Ball rd.
Twelve friends and relatives attended the dinner. Future plans have not yet been announced.

Prof. and Mrs. R. Don Langmo, Jr., are spending the holiday season with Mr. and Mrs. R. Don Langmo, Sr., 840 Merwin st, Silver Lake. Langmo, Jr., teaches industrial engineering at Oregon State in Corvallis. Langmo, Sr., is the owner of Don’s Corner, 10961 S. Stanton ave., and the newly elected vice-president of the Stanton Chamber of Commerce.
Milton Hasell, 7922 E. First st., who has been in the Long Beach Veteran’s hospital the past week is much improved. Mrs. Hasell believes he will be soon able to convalesce at home.
Mr. and Mrs. Cruz Martinez, 1042½ Patt st., became the parents of a six pound, three and a half ounce boy, born at Orange County hospital December 24.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Smithers, 1042 S. Dickel, are the parents of an eight pound, fifteen and a quarter ounce boy as of December 24. He was born at Santa Ana Community hospital.

Dancing Class Party Tonight
Christmas party for the social dancing class which has been under the direction of Donald Derr will be held tonight in Fremont school cafeteria from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Under the sponsorship of the Anaheim Recreation department and Fremont school, the party is for members and parents of the dancing class only.
Those planning to attend are asked to bring 10 cents to cover the cost of expenses.
Miss Mildred Buehler, talented 17-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Buchler, 11462 S. Stanton ave., will dance at the installation dinner of the Stanton Chamber of Commerce at the Imperial Restaurant, Tuesday evening, Jan. 2, after which she will leave, with her mother, for the Dessert Inn, in Palm Springs, where she is being sent for a vacation, by the NTG television show for winning their recent talent contest.

3 tablespoons sugar (about)
Core apples and cut in eighths. Do not peel. Add water and simmer 15 to 18 minutes or until soft. Put through a food mill or sieve. Sweetening to taste. Makes about 3 cups applesauce.

now in her 93rd year.
YLI Announces January Dates
An active agenda has been reported by Anaheim YLI this week,
beginning with a meeting at the home of Elsie Benner, 219 S.
Lemon st., on Jan. 3. This will be a business meeting with social
hour to begin at 9:30 p.m. under the chairmanship of Elsie Benner.
Baby clinic will be held at Don Bosco hall on Jan. 3 with Agnes
Zinda and Velda Neuman as co-chairmen.
Initiation of new members has been set for Jan. 15 when a general meeting will be held, opening
with a pot-luck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Flag team practice is Jan. 13
at 8 p.m. in St. Boniface hall.

New Officers Host Couplets Club Meet
Election of officers for the coming year highlighted the December meeting of the Couplets club held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Graham with Mr. and Mrs. Don Chamberlin and Mr. and Mrs. Don Gorden assisting.
For the second consecutive year Mr. and Mrs. Graham were named to head the club with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Trabant as vice president; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Cool, secretary, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Gordon, treasurer.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Hein were welcomed into the group as new members and Mrs. Dan Trabant led devotions.
Guests at the Christmas meeting were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rodet and Mr. and Mrs. Don Ipomes.
Members and their guests gathered around a beautiful Christmas tree where they sang Yule-tide carols before going caroling to shut-in members of the church.

Robert Rouland on Eighth Birthday
Celebrating his eighth birthday recently, Robert Rouland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rouland, entertained eight young guests at a weiner roast in his back yard.
Prizes for games played during the party were awarded to Tom and Joe Cuevas and Alice Stanway.
Before the party adjourned guests enjoyed a birthday cake with clever decorations of cowboys and Indians, served with ice cream and candy canes.
Attending were Tom and Cuevas, Jackie Ingwerson, William and Ernest Joe Strickland, Ronald Stanway, Alice Stanway and Doris Jean Rouland. The Roulands reside at 9375 S. Hanson.
High school and college age youth from the White Temple Methodist MYF will paint house numbers on street curbs for 50c. The new project will last during this week and funds collected will be used to furnish a youth lounge in Wesley Hall.
City Recreation Department to Hold Drama Class Here
Anaheim's city wide recreation department, which has been acclaimed one of the most comprehensive enterprises of its type in the southland, will enlarge its scope even further during the coming months with the addition of a drama class for local youngsters.
Miss Pat Sullivan, well known drama student, has been selected by Don Derr to head the group. A graduate of Anaheim High school, Miss Sullivan is currently attending Fullerton Junior college where she is majoring in drama and is active in all school productions. Assisting her will be Miss Carolyn Cone.
All grade school children are eligible and will be accepted regardless of talent, according to the directress. Parents are urged to see that their children participate and enjoy the advantages offered by the course.
The class will be active in the coming months and will produce several performances before audiences at the culmination of the current program.
First meeting will be held Jan. 6 at 9 a.m. in Benjamin Franklin school auditorium.
