Local Resident Celebrates 90th Birthday at Party Jackson Wright celebrated his 90th birthday and Christmas when a party of favored friends assembled at the home of Mrs. Marie Morgan, 10556 S. Stanton ave. Born in Hamilton county, Illinois, a farmer, he came to California in 1907 and moved to Stanton area in 1914. He has owned farms and orange groves and still owns property in Garden Grove. He became a close friend of F. C. Beecher, deceased, who built the attractive old home Mrs. Morgan lives in. In those days Beecher was the treasurer of the incorporated city of Stanton and the Stanton Land and Improvement co. Hon. Phil Stanton of Los Angeles, for whom the town was named because of his large holdings of land, was also a friend. Wright has expressed a desire to spend the rest of his days in the home his friend built. Interesting to mention that when Highway 39 is built next spring the house must be moved. Wright moved here six weeks ago. He is a 32nd degree Mason and has a lifetime membership in the Orange county lodge. Sharing his birthday cake were: Mrs. Dorothy Perkins of Garden Grove, William Lovell Johnson, 70 years old, from Aberdeen, South Dakota, railroad man retired; Wilbur Lusk, 68, realtor retired from Anaheim and his daughter, Mrs. J. R. Lusk; Mr. NEW BOARD MEMBERS of the Orange County Branch of the NA at a Christmas party last night in the Anaheim American Legi right: Mrs. Ralph Dickensen, secretary-treasurer; Mrs. Ralph Mrs. Everett M. Cotton's Bright For Resort Wear Bright new cottons for sun wear are ready now—whether you plan to go south or flash one under you winter coat at home. They include exciting new togas for beach or casual wear and clear-colored separates in smooth and textured materials, says Barbara Olson. Writing in McCall's for January, she gives you a preview of what you will be wearing when the sun comes out: "For new beach beauty, a toga opens at the sides, has a wide matching belt. It packs easily, folds flat as a slip. And consider it to wear over slacks and a sweater. An easy-to-pack, easy-to-iron sunback dress of broadcloth wraps at back to make a deep-V neckline. To wear over it, and with all your pretty extra shirts, a heavy cotton lace blouse snugly banded at the waist. "Ready for anything, a chemise dress in a tweedy cotton-and-flax mixture is bound at the edges with grosgrain. Wear it as a coat or dress when the weather's warm or as a jumper over a cozy bright sweater. Ribbed worsted separates overblouse that goes with either the jersey or the broadcloth skirt. More good swap-arounds are wrapped separates in orange broadcloth that look like a dress. The pair together can go under the coat dress above; aparat, they go with extra blouses and skirts." Elk's Lodge members will meet tonight at 6:30 for a chicken dinner. Regular meeting will begin at 8 p.m. This will be gift night, with a white elephant exchange.
