Hutchins is leaving. A university spokesman pointed out the University of Chicago college takes qualified students who have completed the second year of high school. He added: "This means that we get students who are younger than those in other colleges, so that we aren't prepared to play big league football any more... and regardless of who comes in to replace Dr. Hutchins—even if it were Frank Leahy himself I don't think he'd care to try football under the circumstances."
