Confraternity Meets At St. Boniface Hall For Christmas Party
Annual Christmas party for the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, teachers, leaders and delegates was held this year in Anaheim at St. Boniface parish hall with more than 100 representatives enjoying the delightful afternoon.
Sister Henrietta and Edward Marie from St. Joseph hospital in Orange were assisted by the Anaheim council with Mrs. Charles Potvin as president, Mrs. John Larson, vice-president and Mrs. J. Neil LeVecke, secretary as hostesses.
Speaker of the afternoon was the right Reverend Monsignor John Clarke, director of the archdiocesan Confraternity of Christian service who chose as his topic "The Phases of Teaching on Relief Time." Monsignor Michael O'Connor from Santa Ana accompanied the director.
Rev. Maurice Dee, pastor of St. Boniface church in Anaheim, extended a gracious welcome to all the members of the county and their guests: Mrs. William LeVecke was toastmistress.
A delicious Spanish dinner was served on long tables beautifully decorated with lighted candles, pine cones and Christmas decorations. Also carrying out the holiday spirit was the gift exchange among the guests. A Christmas token was presented to the teachers by the sisters.
Natural ice is still "harvested" for private use in northern New Mexico each winter.
