White Temple Sets Carol Dinner Tomorrow Evening Drawing close is the Yuletide event of the year at the White Temple Methodist church. Tuesday night, Dec. 19, the Temple choir will present the second annual carol dinner. Reservations for 200 are nearly gone. A call at the church office will reserve tickets, which are $1.25. Those who attended last year will remember with delight the elaborate decorations, which in no ways will outdo this year's decorations. The program for the evening will be as follows: Men's chorus will open the program with an early hymn tune titled, "Good Christian Men Rejoice." The entire temple choir will then present Christmas music from around the world. Some of it traditional and familiar carols which have been especially arranged for mixed voices. Other parts of the program will feature new and modern Christmas music. Numbers included will be: "Jesu Bambino"—Robert Ranger, baritone solo; "Christ of the Snow," a shepherders carol; "Fanfare for Christmas Day;" "Carol of the Bells;" "Little Lordeen;" "Gloria in Excelsis Deo;" "While Shepherds Watch their Sheep"—echo quartete will be Gwen Harlow, Birthday Wish Comes True as 10 Year Old Adds Crosley Girl to Pinup Board The unique Crosley Corp, pinup girl, one of the kind that straight at you no matter where you are standing, was originally signed to sell refrigerators and other appliances for Crosley. In Anaheim the eery display board sold, completely, a young boy, and capped, for him, a successful 10th birthday. The boy is Bruce Carney, son of Col. and Mrs. E. B. Carney, formerly residents of Anaheim but recently moved to El Toro. Bruce took note of the unique poster display in the window of Al Garey's furniture store on W. Center st. He passed the place frequently and the picture up. Ruth Preston, Lyman Harpster and Carl Hatfield. For the enjoyment of all attending, singing of familiar carols around the candle-lighted tables will be led by Temple Choir Minister of Music, Miss Gania Demaree. Soloists for the evening will be William Fackiner, Doris Ryan, who will sing "Cantique de Noel," Ruth Preston singing "I Wonder as I Wander," Elnora Sanford singing a negro Christmas Spiritual "Go Tell it On the Mountain," and Tommy Thomason singing "The Sleigh." Accompanist for the evening of song and fellowship will be Mrs. Joe A. Burk. Marks, farm bureau secretary, will petition the Public Utilities commission for extended telephone service in Orange county . . $12.25 million will be expended on the development of the two Orange county Naval air establishments . . County water district directors approve pact to salvage Prado Dam basin water losses. The county expects to get between 8000 to 12,000 acre feet of water Salt Water Pollution Hits Thirteenth California Fresh Water Deposits Salt water from the ocean has polluted approximately 90,000 acres of fresh water-bearing deposits in 13 major and minor ground-water basins of the California coast and inland bay areas, and threatens seven other ground-water basins. These facts were highpoints of a report made recently in San Francisco by the State Division of Water Resources at the monthly meeting of the State Water Pollution Control Board.
