College Small Talk By JACKIE CUSHING Fullerton Hornet's are already buzzing with Christmas activity, as well as anticipating the coming two week leave of absence from classes and homework, slated to begin Friday. Very few students have mapped out a life of ease and relaxation during the vacation though. Working People Many a student will leave boots behind and become a sales clerk, first class, during the pre-Xmas rush and Anaheimers are had at work even now. Jeanne Starr is all tied up in the wrapping department of the SQR store, while friend Connie Woods sells gimics in the notions department. An out-of-door type of man is Curtis Meade, who is selling Christmas trees while waiting for Santa. In the Kress store there are so many Fullerton JC'ers that its confusing just who is there. Seen busily waiting on customers Saturday night were Pat Sullivan, Joan Robinson, Joan Bruce and Ruth Martens. Going Formal Saturday night was the evening of the biggest dance of the year at Fullerton, the annual Christmas Formal. Carroll Wax and his nine piece orchestra provided a Christmas Symphony of music for the couple to dance to in the Christmas wonderland, usually known as the high school gym, but transformed for the evening by a hard working social committee, headed by Carol Rich. Honorable mention should go to the Hornet band, even though it's a bit overdue, for the grand showing during the football season and in the parades they took part in. First place in the Junior college division of the All-Western Band Review was awarded these high steppers to make it the fourth consecutive first place win for them. The latest performance of the 44 band members, led by drum major Duane White and majorettes, Shirley Gatling, Darlene Morris and Diane Robinson, was during the halftime activities at the Little Rose Bowl game December 9, where Long Beach and Boise junior college met for a football classic. One thing was certain, clothes for the younger set this year are utterly captivating. With Claire Larson as commentator, fashions from the Betty Rose shop delighted the audience throughout the afternoon. Opening curtain revealed Gary and Gail Ringwald seated before a large decorated Christmas tree heaped with presents. Clad in bright pajamas they remained on stage throughout the program, adding a festive mood to the presentation. Dressed as Huck Finn, Stevie Remert was appealing in levi's, plaid shirt, straw hat, fishing pole and bandaged toe. Heralding the coming season, Vickie Loudon and daughters, Kathy and Greichen modeled sun dresses in mother and daughter fashions. What the well dressed girl will wear while waiting for Santa Claus was shown by Cassey Mellette, resplendent in a pink lounging robe with matching pajamas and slippers. Judy Maas was the typical school girl in skirt and twin sweater set. Larry Larson wore a Hopalong Cassidy outfit, and Pamela and Janet Kier were applauded for their attractive sister suits. Party dresses were shown by Linda Ralston, Judy Weaver, Judy Ohanion and Pamela Fowler. Smartest in little boys dress suits were worn by Billy Little and Peter Ganahl.
