Ladies Day Plans Well Underway Alan LaMont, chairman of Ladies Day, Friday afternoon October 27 for Anaheim Hallowe'en Festival and Fair says that plans are progressing very nicely and that Friday afternoon will prove a big day for all who attend. Word has been received from Mrs. Walker, Home Economist of Anaheim Union High school, that her cooking classes are planning to attend the afternoon show, one hundred and fifty strong, and the girls are all entering the pie and cake baking contest sponsored by Pillsbury Mills. Mr. LaMont wishes to tell all the men who "diddle daddle" in the kitchen not to let the fairer sex win all the honors in this contest. Blanks for entering can be obtained at any market or Philco dealer in Orange county. The show starts at 1 p.m., with the Coast-to-Coast broadcast of ABC's "Surprise Package" staring Jay Stewart originating from the 20-30 Members Push Queen Anaheim 20-30 club is working full blast on their plans for promoting Queen candidate, Janice Pullman, and in furthering the Anaheim Hallowe'en Festival. To this end they have scheduled meetings with other 20-30 clubs of this area. Monday night, after a business meeting at the home of president Dick Kelly at 10631 Lincoln ave., the members enmasse visited the Orange 20-30 club. Last night Huntington Beach 20-30 members heard about the celebration and were asked to support it. Big Top at La Palma park where the fair is being held. Following the broadcast, Beverly Keidel will conduct the Philco Cooking School. Many prizes will be given away along with the awards for the baking contest, door prizes and for the Audience Participation show of Surprise Package. CONGRATULATIONS... Later he with General Electric company its atomic energy plant at Han Wash. Following this project, joined the Great Lakes Corp., and in his engineering pacity built a plant in Torrance the firm. He is still affiliated Great Lakes Carbon. He re-works with his wife and daughter, Laila at 413 N. Jefferson st., in Fuxton. Manager Dave Proud was the Union Oil company as a department employee for 10 years and was with another service station in Anaheim for 10 years. He served as assistant city engineer in Ferndale, Michigan from 1940 until his entry into the service in 1941. During his four years active service, Murdoch rose from second Lt., to major in an anti-aircraft artillery unit. Released from the service in 1946, he returned to Ferndale until his departure for Claremont. Murdoch is a registered civil engineer in both Michigan and California. His experience includes assessment work, investigation of damage claims, handling problems of taxation, and engineering and construction of drainage installations. Murdoch is 32. He is married and has two children. With his wife, Jean and daughters Barbara 9, and Cheryl 6, he plans to make his home at 821 N. Janss st.
