Standing before an altar banked with white summer flowers and large green leaves the couple were united in double ring service by Father David Coleman.

Long full sleeves were gathered tightly at the cuff with a row of matching ruffling repeated at the wrist. A high crown of starched embroidered lace held her three quarter length veil and she carried a bouquet of white carnations on a white prayer book, a gift from her aunt, Miss Alice Betzsold.
Mrs. Kenneth Gorham, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor and wore a full skirted dress of pale pink satin with pink mitts and a matching hat with a heavy net crown. Her bouquet of pink carnations was tied with satin streamers.

Mrs. Ruth Bennett was specially honored at the Sunshine and Shower Club, Friday evening, when members and their husbands celebrated the 20th anniversary of the club. As founder and outgoing president, Milton Hassell read an original poem he had dedicated especially to "Queen Ruth." Mrs. Bennett relinquished the gavel to the new president, Mrs. Elsie Hassell. The vice-president is Mrs. Marjorie McBratney; secretary, Mrs. Frances Yater and the treasurer is Mrs. Verna Clark, who was re-elected.
The membership of the club is made up of residents of First and Second st., and the Starr tract, some of the oldest residents of the area. The group opened the party by the flag salute, after which they sang the "Sunshine and Shower Club Song" to the tune of "Where the River Shannon Flows," composed by Mrs. Cynthia Briggs. Mrs. Bennett, who has a very fertile imagination, reviewed the club history and read the scandal sheet with humorous predictions as to what the members would be doing 20 years hence. The new president presented Mrs. Bennett with a beautiful, large engraved scroll signed by all the members. Mrs. Bennett surprised everyone by presenting all 30 members with small scrolls, decorated in the club colors, gold and blue.
Mrs. Briggs gave two readings, "Levenski at the Wedding" and "A Little Girl's Essay on Husbands."
The buffet table, covered with a canopy top, with gold and blue streamers, was centered with marigolds and blue delphiniums on a white damask cloth which featured two large gold letters saying 20. About the clubrooms, on the Charles Freeborn property, 8202 Starr st., were blue asters and gold dahlias and blue and gold festooning. Mmes. Yater and Briggs did the artistic decorating.
Assorted cakes, ice cream and coffee were served by hostesses,
