East st., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jo Ann, to Don Jungkeit, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Jungkeit of 211 S. Palm. Both Miss Faust and her fiancee are attending Anaheim high school where they are active in school affairs. Miss Faust is a majorette with the school band and Don Jungkeit is a band member. Further plans for the wedding will not be announced until after their graduation. Bethel Baptist Mission Society Holds Meeting The first meeting of the year for the Bethel Baptist Missionary Society was held in the church social hall yesterday. Mrs. Martha Erhorn took charge of the work for the Banso hospital in the British Cameroons in Africa. Lunchon was served by Mrs. Vester's group and a short business meeting was conducted. Attendance reached to 35. Thursday, October 5 will be the next meeting. Members of the group will meet at 9 o'clock at the social hall. Mrs. Wedel's group will serve luncheon. Mr. Heitshusen is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Heitshusen of 411 N. West st. of this city. He graduated from Anaheim high school and attended Concordia Teachers college at River Forest, Illinois. After graduation from college Mr. Heitshusen taught for a year at St. Paul Lutheran school at Tracy, Calif. Danny, weighing 8 pounds, 7 ounces, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Dorn of 7761 Blue Gum st., this city, on Tuesday, September 5, at Fullerton General hospital. Kenneth, Jr., 3 years old, awaits his arrival at home. The men of the Holy Name Society of St. Boniface Parish will meet at the 7 o'clock Mass Sunday morning. VFW Post and Auxiliary are having a joint potluck dinner Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m., at the VFW hall, 108 N. Philadelphia st. Members are asked to bring their table service. The committee in charge will furnish the coffee and rolls. Lt. and Mrs. Chet Kelly of Highway 101 South, announce the birth of their daughter, Bobette Maurine, at St. Joseph hospital on Saturday, September 2. Junior Ebell Tea Sunday Afternoon Junior Ebell will launch a b fall season on Sunday afternoon with the annual rush tea for propective members. Mrs. Richard Berryman is general chairman of the event which will be held in the clubhouse from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Mrs. Max Scherber is in charge of refreshments and Mrs. Carl Robertson will handle decorations. Sportswear - Second Floor - The SQR Store Social and Club Activities Benefit Luncheon For Job's Daughters In Vincent Home Janet Vincent, honored queen of Job's Daughters Bethel No. 5, entertained 19 members of the organization in the spacious patio of the Vincent home on E. Broadway Wednesday afternoon. Proceeds from the luncheon were forwarded to the Grand Council of Job's Daughters for the educational fund which provides scholarships to Bethel members throughout the state of California. As one of her duties each year the honored queen is hostess at a small benefit party for the membership. Guests included Eleanor Ausburn and Marie Hedbloom of Lakewood, Joan Davenport, Carol Barnett, Jean and Joan Bastian, Diane Fagen Georgianne Ehrle, Roycene Jennings, Joyce Shunk, Carol Owston, Janice Pullman, Joan Robinson, Sharon Nipp, Jean Foster, and Joan Sowden of Anaheim. Arrangements were made to sell Christmas cards as one of the benefits for the year. Each of the small tables was set with a brightly colored cloth with a small rose in the center. Assisting the hostess were her mother, Mrs. H. C. Vincent and Balboa Bay Club Setting for Benefit Fashion Show Welcome news for Orange County women with a flair for fashion is the rapidly approaching date of the charity luncheon and fashion show sponsored by the Santa Ana Auxiliary of the Children's Home Society of California to be held in the Balboa Bay Club on September 14. Following the buffet service a parade of new fashion headliners whose exciting theme is "Fashions Born to Glow" will be displayed by Dorothy Preble's famous Hollywood models from whose ranks many motion picture players and starlets have frequently been recruited. Mrs. Leonore Shaw of Buffums' Fashion Shop will be commentator on the wide array of fall costumes, sportswear and accessories. "Fashions Born to Glow" will feature the new "narrow-as-an-arrow" silhouette for fall as expressed in rich-textured fabrics, deep-hued colors and jewel-toned accessories. Incidental music will be provided throughout the program by the popular Phil Horton Trio. Mary attended La Sierra College at Arlington for two years and will stay at Halycon Hall while finishing her teachers course at Missionary Immanuel College. Mrs. MacGlashan, 3923 Lime, Long Beach, will leave with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Lee MacGlashan, 3821 Walnut, Long Beach, and drive Mary's sister, Patricia, to the university at Walla Walla, Washington. She will study to become a laboratory technician. The MacGlashans will be in Washington 10 days. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Garracker and their daughter, Anna and five year old son, Dickie, drove Mrs. Karracker's uncle, Theodore Eckert, and Janet Parra, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Parra to Mammoth Lakes for a week's vacation. They camped at Twin Lakes. Karracker is on vacation from John Mitchell and Co., Buena Park electricians. Felix Cole, 8391 E. Cerritos ave., is going to be missed at the Tri-City wranglers dance every Saturday night. He has been the popular square dance caller. Felix is a CPO retired from the Navy. He was at Terminal Island as a civil service employee, since World War II, at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. He has just gone back working for the government. The Society provides adoption services to children of all races and creeds including services to parents wishing to consider adoption for their children, medical and psychological study and temporary care of children eligible for adoption, placement of children in homes best suited to them and continued supervision until adoption is completed and services to persons wishing to adopt children. The Society is a non-profit agency licensed by the California Department of Social Welfare and is supported entirely by private donations. The Orange county office of the society is located at 1104 W. 8th St., Santa Ana and is under the supervision of Mrs. Ora W. Chipman. Tickets for the benefit affair are still available at Buffums' Santa Ana store and from auxiliary members. They will also be avail­able at the Balboa Bay Club entrance on the day of the event. General chairman for the event is Mrs. Arthur B. Wade, who is being assisted by Mmes. Roy W. Potter, Perry Davis, John H. Gilbert, Jr., Clyde Higgins, Robert Banyard, Clarence E. Sprague, Daniel K. Brown, H. Glenn Wallace and William K. Lindsay. Among those who have already contributed to this worthy charity by their purchases of tickets are Mmes. L. F. Moulton, George A. Horton, A. J. They will be guests of Mr. Huss' aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Gallgher, at China Lake where Gallgher works for the government at the U.S. Naval Test Station. They will be accompanied by their two small sons, Wayne and Jerry, and Mrs. Veva Gorman of Anaheim, Mrs. Gallgher's sister. Huss is on vacation from the Essex Wire Company. Friday, the first day dove season opened, Julian P. Black and Harvey Servance from Hanson Manor came home with enough doves for a large pie. They shot them in Brea canyon. Saturday, Black and Mrs. Black hunted between Brea and Pomona and came home with the limit of birds allowed. Mrs. Ray Reader, 10242 Hanson ave., is in Orange County General hospital with a bad arm and a fractured hip. She will remain there for about three months. Her sister, Mrs. Jewel Way of Santa Rosa, leaves tomorrow for her home after a two weeks visit. It is the first time in 14 years the sisters have seen each other. Pat, Mrs. Reeder's son, returned some months ago from Juno, Alaska, had not seen his aunt in 16 years. Mr. and Mrs. George Joseph O'Brien are the parents of George Joel, born August 15, at the Orange County general hospital, weighing 8½ pounds. Dr. John L. Poyas from Laguna Beach, was the physician. The mother and son returned home Friday and live at 10631 Lexington ave. Mrs. Anna Wasslin flew down from Lake county to see her grandson. The mother was also an only child. Mrs. Wasslin will live in Long Beach. Donny Wires, seven year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wires, Sr., 7182 Thornton ave., left with his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Noble of Brentwood Heights, and their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Picard of Santa Monica for Mount Hood, two weeks ago. They have been at the Timberline Ski Lodge where John, the Noble's son, formerly a ski instructor there has taken over charge of the diesel plant.
