Marriage Vows in
Las Vegas Chapel
Elsie Smith of 207 Cherry st., Anaheim and J. H. Alliano of Cypress st., Santa Ana, were married Saturday afternoon, August 26, in a picturesque chapel ceremony at Las Vegas, Nev.
Lighted candles cast a soft glow over the chapel where the informal rites took place. A fashionable blue tailored suit accented by grey shoes, purse and gloves was worn by the bride.
The bride's son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Casto of this city, were the couple's only attendants. Mrs. Casto chose to wear a gold tailored suit with brown accessories for the occasion.
Following the marriage ceremony, they went to the Thunderbird, where a wedding lunchon was shared. Visits to many of the places of interest in the resort town were included in their stay in Las Vegas.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Allianc and Mr. and Mrs. Casto returned to Anaheim Sunday evening. The newly married couple will reside at 207 Cherry st.
Mr. and Mrs. Wally Duffy, formerly of Anaheim, but now living in Long Beach, chartered a plane for Mexico for the week-end of August 18 to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Mrs. Duffy, nee Joyce Ann Hays, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hays of 918 N. Lemon st.

Miss Jeanette Griggs-Stanley W. Loudon Exchange Vows Sunday Afternoon
Reciting their vows in the Episcopal church, Miss Jeanette Griggs and Stanley W. Loudon were married Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Havermill of Santa Ana performing the single ring ceremony.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a ballerina length dress of white chantilly lace over slipper satin, fashioned with a full skirt, fitted bodice and long sleeves.
A beaded juliet cap held her veil in place. The bridal bouquet was a cascade arrangement of white begonias and pink roses, tied with knotted white satin ribbons.
Mrs. Jack Royer, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Her gown was of pink organdy featuring a circular skirt, short sleeves and scalloped neckline. She carried a basket of pink begonias.
Bridesmaids, Mrs. Douglas French and Mrs. Russell Ward, wore gowns patterned after the matron's of honor and carried baskets of yellow begonias.
Howard Loudon served his brother as best man with Jack Royer, brother-in-law of the bride and Russell Ward taking care of the ushering duties.
Soloist, Mrs. Bob Walters, sang "I Love Thee" and "The Lord's Prayer" adding much to the impressiveness of the occasion.
Following the wedding reception held in the garden of the Loudon home at 712 N. Clementine st., the couple left for a week's honeymoon to visit several northern California points of interest.
Presiding at the guest book at the reception was Mrs. Don Taggert, sister of the groom. The mother of the bride chose to wear a teal blue dress with black and pink accessories, while the groom's mother wore a cocoa brown ensemble. Both had white begonia corsages.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Griggs of 546 S. Helena st. and is a graduate of Anaheim Union high school. While there she played an active part in campus life, being the president of the Girl's League, yell leader and a member of Girls' Athletic Association.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lotus Loudon and also graduated from Anaheim High school. He is a member of the active reserves and is scheduled to report for duty, September 5.

Joan Marie Mohn-Clyde Buckely Schlund Say Marriage Vows in Formal Ceremony
Saying their vows before an alter flanked by large baskets of white chrysanthemums, gladiolus and delphiniums and branched candelabra holding lighted tapers, Miss Joan Marie Mohn was wed to Clyde Buckley Schlund, Saturday evening, August 26, at the Grace Lutheran church.
A gown of skinners satin, featuring a sheer illusion yoke edged with seed pearls, which also accented basque bodice and sleeves worn by the bride. The full bouffant skirt curved out sharply from the scalloped waist line to form a cathedral train.
An exquisite Point Venice lace cap, embroidered with seed pearls, held the bride's fingertip veil of illusion in place. Lillies of the valley and snow white roses composed the cornucopia bouquet carried by the bride.
Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Mrs. Phyllis Crawford. Her gown was of autumn sky blue, fashioned with a full skirt and double collar effect. A basket of talisman roses was carried by the matron of honor, whose braided ribbon headpiece was accented with clusters of yellow roses.
Bridesmaids, Mrs. Mary Downs, Mrs. Mary Worthy, sister of the groom, Miss Nancy Heady and Miss Barbara Baer, cousin of the bride, carried handwoven reed baskets of yellow roses and wore gowns and headpieces similar to the matron's of honor. Miss Victoria Lynn Crawford, the bride's niece, with the flower girl.
John Schlund, Walter Lotze, Howard Joyner and James Crawford were ushers at the ceremony and Neil Worthy served the groom as best man.
The Rev. H. F. Steil conducted the formal double ring ceremony, which took place in the church especially decorated with flower arrangements and candelabra, elaborately accented with white hybrid delphiniums, gladiolus and satin bows.
"How do I love Thee," "Through the Years" and "The Lord's Prayer" were the selections sung by Maxson Foss, nuptial soloist. Organist was Mrs. Louise Foss.
Mrs. H. H. Appleman was in charge of the reception, held at the Ebell clubhouse. Assisting her were Mrs. Walter Lotze, sister of the groom and Mrs. Charles Orcutt. Mrs. Donald Waggoner was hostess and Miss Margaret Keith presided at the guest book. Providing a musical background during the reception was Miss Marilyn Schiming, who played several piano selections.
Following the reception the couple left for a honeymoon in northern California. Upon their return they will make their home at 11356 S. West st., The new Mrs. Schlund chose a fashionable suit of apricot and black check trimmed with velvet and complemented with jet velvet accessories for her going away ensemble.

Horn Feted Bridal Shower
Miss Della Horn, who was married Burr yesterday after Capilla de San Antonio, hosted at a pre-nuptial holiday evening in the Panne on S. West st. Cohoste Miss Joan Spencer and Jannine Pannier.
Number of games in keeping theme of the shower were by the guests. Winners were Mrs. Clarence Curtis, Mrs. C. C. Horn, mother of the bride-elect, Mrs. Warren Hodges.
Highlights of the activities was the making of a scrapbook by those present for the honoree and the opening of gifts by Miss Horn. A miniature bride and groom centered the table with the many gifts heaped around the centerpiece.
Flower arrangements added accent to the room. Refreshments of home made cakes and ice cream in the form of wedding bells were served by the hostess assisted by Mrs. C. L. Spencer, Mrs. Charles Pannier and Mrs. Clayton Allen.
Guests present in addition to the honoree, her mother and the hostesses were: Mrs. A. G. Tuma, Mrs. Sihilling, grandmother of the bride-elect, Mrs. M. S. McGuire, Mrs. W. B. Burr, Sr., mother of the bride-groom, Mrs. Whiteman, Mrs. A. B. Brubaker, Mrs. Arnold Howard, Mrs. Harold Elmer, Mrs. C. M. Sihilling, Mrs. William Wright, Mrs. Bill Peacock, Mrs. Harvey Kirk, Mrs. A. B. Suitt, Mildred Harling and several school friends of the bride.
Personal Mention
Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Jones of 315 E. Sycamore have had the Rev. and Mrs. A. H. Chapin from Evansville, Ind., as their house guests. The Reverend and his wife are missionaries, having spent four and one half years in South Africa at one time. Both were very impressed with this state and would like to return and make their home here. Mrs. Chapin is Mr. Jones sister and their visit marked a memorable occasion, as they had not seen each other for 35 years.
Max Moolick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moolick, 7841 E. First st., who recently returned from an extensive trip through Mexico, has decided to take up religious teaching through the presentation of proper religious reading, as a vocation.
Roy Asbury served as ushers.
William Fackiner was nuptial soloist and sang, "Your's Is My Heart Alone," "I Love Thee" and "The Lord's Prayer." Organist was Mrs. Edith Rayburn of Buena Park.
Following the rites was the reception with Miss Rosemary Wood, Miss Phyllis Officer, Miss Betty Lou Leigh, Miss Gerre Homan, Miss Helen Hillary and Miss Anita Robertson assisting in the hostess duties. Miss Mary Wright was in charge of the guest book.
The bride chose a navy blue fitted suit for her going away ensemble. Following the couples honeymoon to some undisclosed destination, they will make their home in Fullerton.

Approximately 450 guests were present to witness the marriage of Miss Willa Wilson and Charles Elm McKnight, which was solemnized Saturday night, August 26, at the First Methodist church in Fullerton.
Officiating at the formal double wedding ceremony was the Rev. Owen Beer. White candles, ice blue urses, baskets of white dahlias, kiskpur and gladiolus provided an impressive background for the bride.
The bride wore an ice blue slip-dress satin gown with the long bridal train and scalloped neckline, accented with bouquet designs of pearls. A coronet of seed pearls held the fingertip veil of ice blue illusion in place.
Her bridal bouquet was an arrangement of white roses, centered with a white orchid and tied with knotted satin ribbon. Sentimental accent to her costume was a pair of pearl earrings, a gift of the groom.
All bridal attendants wore dresses of sky blue taffeta, with a fitted bodice, full skirt and butterfly bustle. Blue matching mitts with scalloped edges to correspond with the scalloped neckline of their gowns was also worn by the attendants, who carried American beauty rose bouquets.
Matron of honor was Mrs. E. C. McKnight, maid of honor, Miss Norma Tews and bridesmaids, Miss Mary Middleton, Miss Jackie Cone and Miss Teddy Lou Payne.
Twin cousins of the bride, Christine and Cathleen Kemp, were the flower girls and Billie Little was ring bearer. Tommy Thompson was the best man, while Dave Toeller, Douglas Thamer, Harry Miller and Miss Phyllis Officer, Miss Betty Lou Leigh, Miss Gerre Homan, Miss Helen Hillary and Miss Anita Robertson assisting in the hostess duties. Miss Mary Wright was in charge of the guest book.

McKnight is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. McKnight of 7822 E. Artesia, Buena Park. A graduate of Fullerton high school, he spent one year in the Marines and plans to attend Fullerton J.C. this coming fall.
