END OF THE LINE—Marcell Szymanski's car rests in an orange grove after collision with an automobile operated by Benjamin Carter. Both drivers received injuries as a result of the accident. Carter was given first aid treatment at the Anaheim Community Hospital. Also injured was John B. Vedder, West Covina, who was a passenger in Carter's car. Carter told officers he saw Szymanski's car but not the flashing light which indicates intent to turn. He started to pass Szyranski when the latter began the turn into his graveyard. TILLS STORY—Standing in front of his wreaked car, Mark Szymanski, 32, 1236 E. Center, relates his version of the accident which occurred last Friday night to Anaheim Police Officer Ed Brawn. According to the report Szymanski was turning from Center street into his driveway when he was rammed from behind by Benjamin Carter, 17, who, not seeing Szymanski's turning signal flash, was attempting to pass. Report estimated Carter's speed between 45 and 50 miles per hour. Fireworks Blamed For Stanton Fire Fire that started in a barley field, belonging to Miles Ball at Lake and Katella rd., Stanton, last week caused damage amounting to an estimated $100 before being extinguished by the Sun Garden Village fire department. The blaze, discovered at 10:55 p.m., was believed started by careless handling of fireworks. WAMPLER TAKES NCAA GOLF CROWN ALBUQUERQUE (AP)—Matter-of-fact Fred Wampler of Purdue added the national collegiate athletics association golf crown to an already impressive list of links titles. He took the collegiate championship Saturday by defeating husky Bob McCall, Colgate football captain, 2 and 2. Denmark encompasses more than 500 islands. DELOYMENT INSURANCE IS TWICE INCOME AMENTO (WNS)—Twice unemployment insurance into the pockets of und California workers as contributed to the fund which workers are paid. Announcement was made by G. Bryant, director of the Department of Employation, a three-year survey of its survey indicated that for three years, more insursions paid than funds collected. The ratio of payments in 1949, according to Bryant, was 2.14 times the amount contributed. In dollars, the department collected $117,863,519, and during the same 12-month period paid out $252,-391,324. The question of how long the fund can stand paying out twice as much as it takes in has been in the minds of employers throughout the state for some time, especially those who have earned a reduced contribution rate and pay under the maximum 2.7 per cent of their payrolls. Fullerton GI With Troops in Japan Cpl. Finis J. Clark, having recently arrived in the Far East Command, has been assigned to the 24th Infantry division, located on the island of Kyushu, Japan. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Clark, who reside at 2428 E. Whittier blvd. Prior to entering the Army, Corporal Clark attended Fullerton Union high school. Re-enlisting in the Army in March 1950, he was assigned to the Far East Command.
