Mr. and Mrs. Jose Ciseros hold one of the gifts they received on their Golden Wedding anniversary Sunday. They have been residents of Anaheim since 1917. Couple Repeat Marriage Vows On Golden Wedding Anniversary June 26 Mr. and Mrs. Jose R. Ciseros, 1112 Parry st., repeated the vows they had spoken fifty years ago at their marriage in Mexico. The Rev. T. Venegas officiated at the Sunday afternoon ceremony held in the Mexican Methodist church, Helena and Broadway. In keeping with the golden anniversary theme, Mrs. Ciseros wore a soft cream colored dress, interwoven with tiny gold threads. A cluster of orange blossoms held Local Girl Models At AAW Convention Miss Anita Robertson, 1401 E. Santa Ana st., modeled at the Advertising Association of the West convention June 25-28 held at the Coconut Grove and attended by over 2000 advertising people from 11 states and Canada. Miss Robertson, protege of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Stevnor, acted as hostess at the Amphysedor hotel of La Habra were attendants to the couple. Mrs. McMasters, new Daisy Hartley, cousin of the bride was dressed in a summer suit of pastel shades and her bouquet was made up of pink and white carnations. Appropriate recordings were played and furnished a soft musical background for the event. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the home, which was decorated with pastel gladiolus, rose and lilies. Mrs. Bert Noblitt served the coffee, assisted by Patsy Troost. Mrs. Pat Semer, aunt of the bride presided at the guest look. The groom's mother, dressed in light blue with a pink corsage and pink accesories, served the ice cream and the bride's mother, dressed in navy blue, also had a pink corsage and served the cake. The couple left for a honeymoon up the coast which will include stops at Monterey, Carmel and other points of interest. They will return sometime next week and will make their home on Orange Grove avenue. The new Mrs. Hazard is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Henderson, Orange Grove ave., Placentia, and her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hazard, Dowling rd., Anaheim. Doll Club Meets In Mathenite Home Members of the Doll club o Anaheim met Tuesday night in the home of Mrs. Nick Mathenite, 300 E. Cypress, for one of their regular meetings. Mrs. F. H. Leonard acted as co-hostess. The decorations for the evening were in keeping with a Spanish motif. Varied gladioli bouquets June 26 Mr. and Mrs. Jose R. Yellow carnations filtered with gold made up the bouquet she carried. The couple were preceded up the aisle by their daughters, Tabita Pena, Bernice Lucio, Phoebe Olivos, their respective husbands and Jose Ciseros, son and Clenen Avila, daughter. Flower girls were the Lucio twins, granddaughters of the elder Ciseros. Grandson David Garcia played a trombone solo entitled "I Love You Truly." The service was attended by 200 relatives and friends of the pair and the reception held at the church was attended by 125 guests. Congratulations came by telegram from El Paso, Tex., Mexico and many other places where the honored couple were known. Mr. and Mrs. Cisero were married in the year 1900 at a ceremony held in the home of the bride, with the Rev. E. Ibanes, the one who baptized Mrs. Cisero, at her birth acting as clergy. The original wedding was a formal occasion and 20 attendants stood with the bride and groom. Only five of the Cisero's 20 children are still living and all of these five and their families attended the occasion, some coming from Patterson and Brawley to be present. Local Girl Models At AAW Convention Miss Anita Robertson, 1401 E. Tuesday night she attended the presidential dinner at the Coconut Grove and modeled a Cole bathing suit, Kenneth Hopkins original hat and a blouse designed by Ken Stevnor especially for the occasion. Quiet Ceremony Marks Henderson, Hazard Nuptials Reciting their vows before a group of close friends and relatives, Miss Joan Henderson and Raymond Hazard were wed Sunday afternoon in the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. E. Denny, E. North st. The Rev. Herbert Tweedie was clergy at the double ring ceremony. Ed Henderson gave his daughter in marriage. She was attired in a soft gray suit, with pink and navy accessories. Scatter pins, a gift of the groom, accented her ensemble and a nosegay of white carnations and lavender orchids composed the bridal bouquet. A lace handkerchief which belonged to her great, great grandmother was a sentimental addition to the bride's outfit. Mr. and Mrs. Duane McMasters Doll Club Meets In Mathenite Home Members of the Doll club on Anaheim met Tuesday night in the home of Mrs. Nick Mathenite, 300 E. Cypress, for one of their regular meetings. Mrs. F. H. Leonard acted as co-hostess. The decorations for the evening were in keeping with a Spanish motif. Varied gladioli bouquets were placed around the room and carnation corsages, by Wayne's were given to each lady present. Guest speaker was Mrs. Arthur Heavener of Ogden, Utah, who displayed one of her famous dolls Queen Rosabelle. A business meeting followed the opening phase of the meeting. Recently the group met at the Bower's museum in Santa Ana with the Doll Collector's club of Long Beach and the Los Angeles division of the Southern California Doll Collectors club. After viewing the display a picnic lunch was held at the San Diego park in Santa Ana. Attending the Tuesday meeting were: Mrs. Anita Cook, Mrs. Mabel Ives, Mrs. Louise Kopfer, Emily Van Verst, Mrs. Vincent Carlson, Miss Elva Hasket, Miss Adele Howard and Miss Clara Mark. Special guests included Mrs. Heavener, Mrs. Siegal, of the conservatory of music and Mrs. E. J. Hamlyn. Members of the Women's Relief corps and the Royal Neighbors met for a potluck lunch at the Anaheim park Tuesday. Highlighting the luncheon was the presentation of a 25-year membership pin to Mrs. Mary Updyke. Charmaine Murray Wins First In Stanton Beauty Contest The Stanton Chamber of Commerce sponsored a Queen contest, last night, on the lawn of the president, Edward Faulkner's home, 9902 Western ave. Eight lovely young ladies between the ages of 17 and 25 put on a real parade of beauty. The girls were: Charmaine Murray, Jeanette Allen, Daisy Young, Marlene Sutherland, Bonnie Tabbatt, Delores Amling, Janice Pullman and Marie Pesterfield. Charmaine was judged to be the winner in a close decision. The girls paraded the runway six times as the five judges checked the six points on their cards: face, figure, personality, grace, charm and posture. The contest was staged under the direction of the chamber secretary, Florence P. Black. Five directors of the chamber brought a judge who did not live in the territory where the girls reside. Edward Faulkner brought Atty Harry Goza from Artesia; Herbert Howard, president of the Westminster, Sun Garden Bolsa group, American Legion; G. W. Irwin, Bob Nelson, photographer from Garden Grove and Buena Park; Mrs. Donald Rees Feted at Shower Mrs. Donald Rees, was honored at a baby shower Wednesday night held in the home of Mrs. W. C. Mauerhan, on Katella rd., with Mildred and Anna Claire Mauerhan assisting in the hostess duties. Decorations of pink and blue gladioli carried out the theme of the evening with tiny nut cups also decorated with tiny storks. Games were played in keeping with the occasion. Prize winners were Mrs. Dorothy Link and Mrs. Walter Taylor. Ice cream and strawberries, coffee or tea, and angel food cake were served by the hostesses. Voting in San Bernardino county in the June 6 primaries was the heaviest ever recorded for sunday election. A total of 80,429 voters representing 65.5 per cent of those eligible went to the polls. Queen Charmaine Murray, received a beautiful trophy from the Stanton Chamber, donated by Edward Faulkner and Associates, of Los Angeles. The trophy was a beautiful gold statue of a roman goddess, holding a wreath of laurel over her head. A large group of residents and members of the chamber turned out to applaud the girls. The chamber expressed their appreciation to every contestant and all eight of them are to be on the chamber's float in the forty-third Huntington Beach 4th of July Golden California centennial, at 11 a.m. The girls are all entered in the beauty contest at 3 p.m., and if they don't carry home all the prizes, at least they will give the other contestants a bad time. August 16 Charmaine will compete with 21 other girls from Orange county at the fair. The queen will be selected at an extravagant show on the grounds. Ice cream and strawberries, coffee or tea, and angel food cake were served by the hostesses. Allen, Mr.'and Mrs. Fletcher and their three sons, Larry, Charles and Donald honor- from "The Brother," the three-act play which the MYF Footlighters, noted drama group opprised of young people from the White Temple Methodist church, will present on a two-weeks show tour covering the Pacific Coast next week. As a result of a long campaign to attract small, specialized manufacturing plants there are now 296 such concerns within the city limits.
