Reveal McCarthy Paid $10,000 by Lustron Homes BULLETIN COLUMBUS, O. (AP)—The Lustron Corporation paid U. S. Senator Joseph R. McCarthy (R-Wis.) $10,000 for writing an article on housing; a receiver's report showed today. A photograph of a $10,000 check and the copy of a contract between the senator and Lustron were filed in U. S. District Court by the receiver for the prefabricated house manufacturer. McCarthy was on route from Washington to a Groton, Conn., speaking engagement and was immediately available for comment. The only legal restriction on other activities by members of Congress is that they may not plead cases before government agencies.
