Forty-six students from Anaheim will receive their diplomas when Fullerton Junior college holds its 36th Annual Commencement exercises Friday, June 16 at 8 p.m. in the high school-junior college stadium.
Supt. T. Stanley Warburton will preside over the proceedings and Dr. William T. Boyce, retiring director of the college, will give the principal address. He will be introduced by Dick Barton, sophomore class president.
The Rev. Paul Kirk, pastor of the Temple Baptist Church of La Habra, is scheduled to deliver the Invocation and Benediction. Dr. Robert E. Swenson, dean of men, will lead the group into the stadium.

Councilmen considered several possibilities involving larger pipe. Estimated cost of a four inch line from the city limits to Midway drive is $4400, it was said. A meeting was scheduled Thursday with representatives of the area to work out the most equitable plan for remedying the situation.
Last night the councilmen also: authorized purchase of 6000 feet of 8" pipe and 16,000 feet of 6" pipe from the National Cast Iron Pipe Company at a cost of $33,840; authorized payment of $3700 for a street department scoop mobile; authorized purchase of a new lawnmower for the city park at $460, and moved to erect two more stop signs at the corner of Sycamore and Citron at the recommendation of Police Chief Mark Stephenson.
Sixth Graders Enjoy Picnic At Irvine Park
Sixth graders from the George Washington school went on their annual picnic yesterday at Irvine park. Twenty-seven pupils under the supervision of their teacher, Mr. V. Elliott enjoyed a day of horseback riding, boating, cycling, hiking and topped it all off with a picnic feast.
Room mothers accompanying the class were Mrs. Carl Kopfer and Mrs. George Winters, assisted by the following mothers of students: Mrs. James Downey, Mrs. Ray Buckner, Mrs. Ted Bourne and Mrs. George Kohlenberger.

Born and raised in the Placentia area, Edwards is a third generation Californian. A graduate of Placentia and Fullerton schools as well as the University of Southern California, he was president of the Placentia Pioneer Valencia Growers Association last year, and served as its vice-president in 1948. A member of the Citrus Growers Research board, he served also as finance committee chairman for the Associated Farmers of Orange county last year.
Edwards will take over the presidential duties July 1, when Clem McColloch of Placentia, retiring president, leaves office.
Also elected for the coming year were Harry Siemensma, manager of the L. M. Banks Fruit Co., in Anaheim, and V. C. Meyer also of Anaheim, as vice-presidents.
George Graham was re-elected as secretary-treasurer and will begin his 14th year in that capacity next month when the new officers are officially installed.

LOS ANGELES (AP)—Underdog Clarence Henry, 191½, Los Angeles, won a unanimous 10-round decision last night from Chicago's John Holman, 203, in an upset main event at the Olympic auditorium.
Holman took a count of five after a left hook to the jaw in the eighth round by Henry, who previously had defeated only secondary fighters. Holman has scored wins over Turkey Thompson and Willie Bean.

LOS ANGELES (AP) —Some 200,000 Shriners may have to hoof it around this city of 482 square miles unless a threatened strike against Los Angeles Transit lines is averted.
Negotiations between the company and the AFL Transportation union are deadlocked and a strike is set for midnight Thursday. The Shriners begin their week-long convention Monday and there aren't enough taxis to accommodate them all.

Supervisors Accept New Ag Building
County supervisors Tuesday gave formal acceptance to the new $37,213.90 county agricultural buildings on Palm street, Anaheim, just completed by contractor William Rohrbacher:
Slight adjustments remain to be made in the new administration building and the warehouse, added to the buildings purchased by the county which formerly served as laboratory for the Union Oil Co. Final 10 per cent payment will not be made on the contract until 35 days after acceptance.
County Agricultural Commissioner D. W. Tubbs already has partially occupied the new buildings.
