Property Tax Bill Drops
Property tax bill for Orange county government totaled $3,681-138 for the current (1949-50) fiscal year, down $29,986 from the $3711,126 property tax bill for 1948-49. California Taxpayers' Association reported today.
Expenditures of the county were budgeted at $13,329,224 for 1949-50, compared with $10,282-284 for 1948-49. During 1949-50, aid to the needy aged and blind was handled in the state budget—so the 1949-50 county budgets showed no provision for this large government cost. It was in the 1948-49 budget and will be in the 1950-51 budget.
Subventions and grants from other governments covered $6,095-836, of the county's budget, for 1949-50, compared with $3,853,345 for 1948-49.
Other (non-tax) revenues for 1949-50 were budgeted at $3,552-250 compared with $2,717,813 for 1948-49.
