Advertisement for bids for ORANGE COUNTY JOINT OUTFALL SEWER, MAGNOLIA TRUNK SEWER, SANTA ANA FREEWAY CROSSING.
Until 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 6, bids will be received by the office of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer located at the Anaheim City Hall, Anaheim, California (Anaheim 7243) for the construction of the Magnolia Trunk Sewer under the Santa Ana Freeway crossing. Work will consist of the following construction items: 500 linear feet, 39' Extra strength vitrified clay pipe, complete in place; 30 linear feet, 60' corrugated metal or welded steel pipe under Southern Pacific Railroad. 81 cu. yd., concrete encasement, concrete manholes, complete.
Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check payable to the City of Anaheim for 10% of the estimated aggregate payments to be made under the contract.
Work in accordance with Plans and Specifications, and requirements of Southern California Division of Highways and the Southern Pacific Railroad.
Plans and Specifications are on file at office of Koebig and Koebig, Consulting Engineers, 430 S. Spring st., Los Angeles, California.

RESOULTION ADOPTING WAGE SCALE FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM that in accordance with the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California, said City Council has ascertained the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holiday and overtime work for each craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanic needed for the execution of public work contracts within said City, said prevailing rates go determined being as follows:

The foregoing wage scales are for an eight-hour day, forty-hour week, time and one-half for overtime and double time Sundays and legal holidays, except as otherwise provided in the August 1, 1949, revision of the A.G.C.A.F.L. Southern California Master Labor Agreement and Supplements, which shall govern for such overtime and double time pay and for the wage scale for foremen not otherwise listed above.
Properly indentured apprentices to any of the trades listed above may be employed upon the project with skilled workmen subject to the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the California Labor Code, the wage rate for such apprentices to be determined as provided in said section.

Seek Return of King Leopold to Belgium Throne
BRUSSELS, Belgium (P)—The Social Christian Party, victorious in yesterday's parliamentary elections, embarked today on a program to bring exiled King Leopold III back to the throne. Enthusiastic party leaders predicted this will be accomplished by July 1. Leaders of the anti-Leopold opposition were not so sure.

The sheriff also reported another "big job." Thirty bales of hay weighing 2 tons and valued at $60, were stolen from Kraemer Bros., prominent ranchmen, at 19955 Esperanza rd., near Yorba Linda. The hay disappeared during the last two days, it was reported to the law.

Riggs, Kramer Lead Net Pros
CLEVELAND, (AP) — Defending champion Bobby Riggs and his predecessor, Jack Kramer, lead a field of 28 into the week-long national professional tennis championship play opening here today.
The 32-year-old Riggs, who lost an exhibition to Kramer at Milwaukee yesterday 6-2, 6-0, has a first round bye and will not get into match play until Wednesday.
Leading competitors, with Riggs and Kramer, who both hail from Los Angeles, are Pancho Segura, two-handed flash from Ecuador; Welby Pan Horn of Philadelphia, Frankie Parker, Milwaukee veteran, and Frank Kovacs of Oakland, Calif.
Yanks Sweep Paris Tourney
PARIS (AP) — Americans made a clean sweep of the French international tennis tournament by taking doubles championships yesterday.
Billy Talbert of New York and Tony Trabert of the University of Cincinnati won the men's doubles by turning back Jaroslav Drozeny of Egypt and Eric Sturges of South Africa, 6-2, 1-4, 10-8, 6-2.
The women's doubles went to Shirley Fry of Akron, Ohio, and Doris Hart of Jacksonville, Fla., who defated Mrs. Margaret Osborne Dupogal of Wilmington, Del., and Louise Brough of Beverly Hills, Calif., 1-6, 7-5, 6-2.
Barbara Scoffeld of San Francisco and Argentina's Enrique Morea won the mixed doubles by default from Pat Canning Todd of La Jolla, Calif., and Talbert. Mrs. Todd turned up with tender feet and couldn't play.

Summer Casaba Players Paged
Two summer basketball leagues, one open and one for high school students, will begin Monday, June 26, City Recreation Director Don Derr announced today.
Only restriction on the open division is that team members live or work in the Anaheim high school district.
Games will be played in the evenings at Anaheim high school.
Groups interested in the open league should contact Don Derr or pick up entry blanks in the City Clerk's office, City Hall.
High school students can sign up with Coach Sam Keith.
Leagues have room for eight open teams and six high school teams.
Equipment and towels will be provided. Players may use the high school plunge after the evening casaba sessions.
The University of Arizona tennis team closed its regular season with a record of six victories and one tie.

Terranova 'Fair' After Accident
NEW YORK (AP) — Phil Terranova, former featherweight boxing champion, was in "fair" condition at Fordham hospital today after suffering injuries in an automobile accident.
The 30-year-old retired fighter received a possible brain concussion and facial cuts when his car skidded on wet pavement yesterday and crashed into a light pole.
Terranova won the NBA featherweight title by knocking out Jackie Callura in New Orleans Aug. 16, 1943.
He lost it the next year to Sal Bartolo, who in turn bowed to Willie Pep, the present champion.
