C. C. Harry Opens Anaheim Lincoln-Mercury Dealership Here Tomorrow FORMAL OPENING TOMORROW—The formal opening of a new Lincoln-Mercury dealership at 626 S. Los Angeles street is Thursday with C. C. Harry as manager. Free coffee and doug will be served. Formal opening of Anaheim Mercury, new dealer for Mercury and Lincoln cars in Anaheim, is set for this Thursday, it was announced today by C. C. Harry, manager. The showrooms are located at 626 South Los Angeles street. Anaheim Mercury is situated at the location formerly occupied by H & K Motors. Citing the high place occupied by Mercury in the automotive field, Harry pointed out that Mercury won first place in the Grand Canyon Economy run a month ago, and has been selected as the pacemaker for the 500 mile Indianapolis speedway race May 30. President Truman has signed a bill to pay California Indians $150 each from their tribal funds. Approximately $4,000,000 is to be distributed among 27,500 persons. Gilmore Stadium To be Razed for 'Television City' HOLLYWOOD (AP) — Columbia Broadcasting System announced today it is purchasing the property now occupied by Gilmore stadium at Fairfax and Beverly Blvd., for the construction of a new "television city." Purchase price of the property—which stands for three blocks in Fairfax and a block on Beverly—was not announced. A CBS spokesman said preliminary surveys are just getting underway and construction will not start for at least a year. At that time, however, Gilmore stadium will be torn down. The 18,500 seat plant has been used for football and midget auto racing, as well as outdoor shows and similar sports events. It has been the home field University for many years. It is in county territory surrounded by Lily City—which also includes field, home of the Holly of the Pacific Coast Lea Pacific auditorium, ice later; the Farmers market drive-in theater. The property was from Mrs. Elizabeth J. Mrs. Frances L. Hilen, of Earl B. Gilmore, operator and sportsman born on the site in 1881 lives there.
