Fremont P-TA Installs Officers
New officers for the coming year were installed in an Oak Tree ceremony, at the Fremont P-TA meeting held last week in the school cafeteria.
Mrs. Arthur Sipherd of Orange, fourth district past president, and child health chairman for the state board of P-TA was the installing officer.
When addressing the group before proceeding with the ceremony, she said: "We are all interested in child welfare—all children are our children. Parents and teachers working together help to understand the child. A good rule to follow is the objectives of the P-TA as set down by our founders."
As Mrs. Sipherd installed each officer, she addressed each in turn, referring to the oak tree, as follows; Mrs. Kolenberger, president, the trunk or mainstay of the organization; Mrs. Paul David, vice-president, the branches which lend shape to the tree; Mrs. Arch Henry, recording secretary, records the activities and growth of the organization; Mrs. M. L. Fort, corresponding secretary, as the branches and trees are swayed with the breeze, she makes the contacts with the outside world; Mrs. Dick Heffern, a new national headquarters which is to be built in Chicago, through the contribution of all P-TA members in the United States.
The national convention will be held in Long Beach, May 22 through May 24.
Miss Harriet Schadewald presented "The Trouvares" and the "Triple Trio" in songs, accompanied by Peggy Kohlenberger at the piano.
Miss Adah Louise Wilcox, physical education instructor of the local elementary schools, presented group demonstrations of physical education and square dancing as taught to girls in the seventh and eighth grades.
The sixth grade mothers of elementary schools, were special guests and were given corsages by the hospitality committee. Mr. M. L. Fort, chairman, was assisted by Mrs. W. G. Head, Mrs. Mark Stephenson and Mrs. Dick Heffern.
Hostesses for the tea hour which followed, were Mrs. Clarence Taylor, Mrs. Homer Wallace, Mrs. H. M. Williams and Mrs. L. Schrott.

Albrights Hosts To Church Class
Mr. and Mrs. John Albright were hosts to the Service class of Wesley Methodist church when members met in their home at 509 N. Sabina last Friday evening.
During the business meeting conducted by President Hugh Nipp a report was given of receipts from the mother - daughter banquet which the men of the class had prepared and financed the preceding week. It was decided to have a cooked food sale early in June. Also the class will be responsible.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Raber, of 231 W. Whiting ave., Fullerton, were honored at a silver wedding anniversary reception, last Sunday afternoon, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Raber 922 W. Alberta st., Anaheim. Mr. and Mrs. Carl E. Raber were co-hosts.
White roses, stock and tulips had been beautifully arranged to decorate the Raber home and two large urns of white stock added to the beauty of the lawn where the reception took place.
Tom Raber is employed by Cone Brothers Chevrolet Agency of this city.

Franklin P-TA Holds Style Show
Sixth grade students and their parents were honored at the last Thursday meeting of the Benjamin Franklin P-TA, in the school auditorium.
A style show was presented by the fathers, with Chester Fowler as master of ceremonies, and Mrs. Marion Henry, as narrator. The following fathers were models: Francis Elliott, Arthur Korn, Harold Leigh, Harold Ferguson, Ray Agren, Forrest Simonton, Harold Bircher and Floyd Stockwell. Miss Mary Fleckenstein, at the piano, presented appropriate music.
Mrs. J. V. Lynn, Mrs. J. Ditty, Mrs. Walter Taylor and Mrs. Bircher, were hostesses for the refreshment period which followed the last business meeting of the year.
