PCL Moguls OK Video for '50
SAN FRANCISCO (UP)—Each Pacific Coast League baseball club will handle the television bugaboo in its own way—at least until next year's Directors' Meeting.
The Loop Directors voted yesterday to wait until present video contracts are fulfilled before deciding how to recoup from dwindling gate receipts caused by televising of games. League President Clarence Rowland said sentiment favored higher prices for future television contracts. All PCL clubs have television contracts except Sacramento and Portland.
The Coast Directors turned down a proposal by Oakland President Clarence "Brick" Laws that the home clubs keep all gate receipts. The present split is 60-40, with the home club getting the bigger share.
